noticed mailboxes with Tiverton ad-
dresses. I broke down and asked him
to point me in the right direction. He
told me where to go and lamented
that they could search for us for forty
days and forty nights and not find
our location. We were really in the
boonies. We finally hit a highway
after our little jaunt thirty miles off
course.
When 1 had my bearings again 1
tried to strike a deal with Doug, just
so that no other soul would learn of
our little side trip. His conditions
were pretty steep and we haggled until
we came to the gate of our farm.
Before he left the truck he told me it
was my last chance. 1 passed. The
first person we met was of course
Super Wrench and within minutes
Doug sang like a canary. Super
Wrench took one look at my dis-
gusted visage and laughed uproar-
iously.
He can well laugh, but the next
time he wants to teach the kids about
the intricacies of responsibility, he is
on his own. I have too much to learn
