RR 1 Chepstow
Residents visit Maritime attractions
Jean and Russell Phillips, accom-
panied by Art and Olive Bell of
Goderich Township, took a three-
week motor trip to the Maritime
provinces via the United States.
They visited with their brother,
Willis and Joanne Bell at Oronocto,
New Brunswick, and Mrs. Phyllis
Chapman of Frederiction, N.B.
Then it was off to Prince Edward
Island to view Hope Well Rocks
and the Cabot Trail. Another Scenic
spot visited was the Bay of Fundy
in Nova Scotia.
The weather was ideal for travel-
ling.
Upon their return they and family
members attended the Bell Reunion
held at the home of Art and Olice.
Sixty-nine people attended the
event.
Travelling the furthest distance
were Terry and Lori Martin and
daughter Emily and Phylis Chap-
man from Fredericton, N.B. Local
family members present included
Russell and Jean Phillips and sons
Ken and wife Mary, Fred and Bren-
da and children. Julie, Andrew and
Morgan, Bob and Irene Markham
and daughter Kelly and her husband
Martin Scott and children Jesse and
Danielle.
Evelyn Errington had the
pleasure of a visit from her former
Lucknow Sepy apartment neighbors,
Betty O'Donnelly, Mary Loth,
Marcia Dawson, Eva Adamson and
Sara Ritchie, on Wednesday.
Congratulations is extended to
Joe Sproul whose marnate to Char-
lotte Johnston took place on Friday,
July 16, 1993. Attending the bridal
couple were Marlene Godrey
(bride's sister) and Howey Sproul
(brother of the groom). They are
residing in Goderich. A well at-
tended reception was held in their
honor at the Knights of Columbus
Centre, Goderich, on Saturday
evening, July 17.
A welding spark causing a fire
was responsible for the loss of a
work shop at noon July 6 at teh
faun of Simon and Jan Logtenberg.
Quick response by the Lucknow
and District Fire Department
prevented the blaze from spreading
to adjoining buildings.
The Baptism of Shawn Raymond,
infant son of Bernard and Heather
Boyle, took place on Sunday at St.
Augustine R.C. Church. Following
the service a family gathering was

held at the Boyle residence.
Congratulations to Jim and Emily
Drennan who celebrated their 35th
wedding anniversary on Monday,
July 19.
A well attended social evening
for Phyllis Matthews and Grant
Helm was held at the Lucknow
Arena on Saturday evening, July
17. They will be married on August
7. Congratulations to the happy
couple.
Several from this area attended
the Hallahan Fiddler's Reunion held
on Saturday, July 17, and Sunday,
July 18. A social fun -filled weekend
included nature walks, campfires,
sing-alongs and plenty of music.
Congratulations to Florence
Shackleton who celebrated her
birthday on July 12. Benson and
Florence visited with their daughter
and son-in-law, Carol and Alvin
Becker in Dashwood on Sunday.
Several from this area attended
the wedding reception held at the
Lucknow Community Centre for
Madonna Bradley and Timothy
Gilmore who were married on
Saturday, July 17. Congratulations.
Nine tables were in action Wed-
nesday night for the weekly euchre
game at Dungannon Senior
Citizens. Winners were Harvey
Richardson, Marie Merkley, Loraine
Barry and Margaret Young.
' Leonard and Violet Brindley held
a family gathering on Saturday
night to honor Louise Brindley on
her birthday. Present for the oc-
casion were grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
Louise's 8th great granchild
arrived on July 6, a daughter Sarah
Lynn to Susan (Brindley) and Paul
Adams and a sister or Jessica.
Louise shares her horticultural
talent with the 'Dungannon senior
citizens.
Whatever flower is in bloom,
whe is certain to display a beautiful
floral arrangement.
Approximately 50 family mem-
bers of the late Joseph and Grace
.(Westrope) Courtney gathered on
Sunday, July 18 for the annual
Courntey reunion held each year at
Lions Park in Blyth. Families were
present from Jackson, Michigan,
Belleville, Michigan, Hudsonville,
Michigan, Toronto, London, Bur-
lington, Clinton, Blyth, Lucknow
and Dungannon.
Mr. and Mrs. John Spivak had a
visit during the week from their
daughter Sharon (Mrs. John Lodge)
and daughers Joel and Ashley of
London. They.visited with Sharon's
aunt Pearl Caldwell who resides at
Pinecrest Manor in Lucknow, and
enjoyed having lunch there with
her.
Doreen and Bob McCormick
attended the 50th wedding anniver-
sary of Doreen's brother and his
wife, George and Winnifred Wil-
liams in Shelburne on Saturday,
July 10. Congratulations on the
happy occasion.
Bob and Doreen McCormick had
their family Sharon and Daryl
Baynton and family, Auburn, Kim
and Ish Rahaman and family of
Kitchener home for a family get
together on Sunday, July 18. Their
two grandchildren, Ryan and Alicia
Rahaman are spending a few days
with Grandpa and Grandma.

mick's on Sunday.
