On Monday Apr. 19 Adrian Kor- ten came to visit the school. He talked to the students about Wycliffe Bible Translators and the work he plan's to do in their Van- couver office. He showed slides about the children around the world and what their lives are like, and another show about work of the Wycliffe Bible Translators. Mr. Korten talked to the students and asked them what they would or wouldn't like about living in a Third -world country. He explained how translators had to go into another country and learn their language before they could translate the Bible, We would like to give Adrian a special thanks for taking the time to come out to the Lucknow and ..District Christian School to tell us about Wycliffe. We would also like to thank Don Cameron for coming to the school and marking all the Science Fair LS .EXPRESS amikimimmommiimm Projects: On Thursday Apr. 15, Mr. •Cameron talked to the students about their projects and asked them questions to understand them better. We would like to give the senior citizens from Sepoy Apartments a very special thanks. On Monday, Apr. 19, the senior citizens came to our school and did very interesting things with the primary grades. They read to the kindergartners and first graders and, in turn, the kindergartens and first graders read to them. The senior citizens also made beautiful flower arrangements with the third and fourth graders. Well, spring is here and the fifth and sixth graders celebrated it by decorating their room. They tacked their spring poems on the bulletin boards and covered the walls with paper tulips and daffodils. Ashfield -MMS holds Easter thankoffering The Ashfield Women's Mis- sionary Society's thankoffering meeting was held at the church on Apr. 19. Elaine Collins opened the meeting with a poem Spring Song, and meditation was given by Edith Simpson. The Easter worship service from Darkness to Light was followed with Mrs. Collins and Mrs. Simpson reading the scriptures. Each member lit a candle during the service. Glad Tidings was reviewed and the WMS motto was repeated in unison. Business was conducted by Helen MacLennat! A mission fest will be held in Teeswater on June 5 at different times during the day. A hymn, benediction and singing grace concluded the meeting. Lunch was served by the committee and a social time followed. MacLennans weekend in Lochalsh Finlay and Brenda MacLennan and family of Kitchener spent the weekend in Lochalsh. Cecil Webster was home from Richfield. Ohio for a week with his mother Kae Webster. He had been in Ohio all winter helping his sister and brother-in-law who had a hip replacement the latter part of January. While he was home Cecil and his mother visited with Finlay and Margie MacDonald, Charlie and Mayme Wilkins, and also Bob and Barbara Polin in Seaforth. His days were kept busy when Bill Wilkins and Cecil dismantled the old shed making a great improvement to the property. Easter weekend was a very busy one for Mayme Wilkins when she had all • their family (25) there for supper Saturday evening. Those that visited on the weekend with Finlay and Margie MacDonald were Sandy Henderson of Toronto, Collin, Marlene and Emily MacLennan of Stouffville and Susan Reeves of Kincardine. Margie MacDonald visited on Monday in Shepperton with Marion McGee. Elmer and Edna Culbert have returned home after spending three months in the sunny south. Laura and Mabel Campbell of Toronto and Lloyd Irwin of Kinloss were also guests with Charlie and Maynie Wilkins on Easter weekend. Visiting on the weekend with Finlay and Margie MacDonald and also with Jessie Johnston in Luck - now were Marj Maldrum and Janie Knight of Detroit. Gordon and Nora Robb had, all their family visiting with them recently. Visitors with Charlie and Mayme Wilkins recently were Barbara Wilkins of Burford and Myra McWilliams of Belleville, On Mon- day Charlie's brother Harry of Paisley visited for a while. ' Kay Calvert of Sarnia visited on the weekend with her sister and brother-in-law, Marj and Ewen McLean. Monday night is Red Shield Appeal Night Your generosity can shed light into someone's life. The students. then placed the peat pops in organic starter pots and planted marigold seed.
