PRESIDENT'S MEETING WITH
RALPH BARRIE IN TORONTO:
Harold reported on a meeting in
Toronto attended by all county
presidents to discuss FCC and to
develop a strategy. Re: FCC. Most in
attendance agreed FCC should have
better financing available for viable
farms and supported Agri -Bonds.
Many felt there should be stricter
lending criteria and money should not
be available for expansion from FCC.
After a discussion with those present

needed except two directors.
Re: Strategy Plan: an eight point
strategy plan was presented as fol-
lows: 1. local committee for strategy
development 2. major letter writing
campaign, 3. major publicity cam-
paign, 4. delegation to meet with
government people, 5. Local county
meetings with farm leaders to meet
with government on a given day. 6.
local demonstrations for every coun-
ty, 7. Massive demonstration, 8.
Massive strike, withholding products.
Suprisingly...many attending pres-
ident's meeting in Toronto said there
was not a problem for "good"
farmers. They seemed to unanimous-
ly support the idea of hiring a paid
lobbyist for OFA. Harold spoke to
the presidents with regards to bank
hat assment and lack of FCC fund-
ing. A discussion followed with all
directors and executive taking part

Survey of Harassment
and Unjust Practises of Creditors
It has been brought to the attention of the Bruce County
Federation of Agriculture that farmers are suffering from
more than financial difficulties. They are being harassed.
This means that undue pressures are applied to individuals
by their creditors which affect their emotional or physical
ability to run their business.
The Bruce County Federation of Agriculture recognizes
the position of the creditors but questions some of the
methods employed by individual personnel. We feel that
these practices are unjust and intend to investigate them.
To do this, we need your help. The following questionnaire
is important so please fill it out, and whether you wish to
sign or not is your choice.
