CALL JIM SCOTT, RIPLEY 395.5959 or 395-3586 Bruce Federation (cont. from page 70) and the Bruce Federation would support some "firm" action. BANK HA RASSMENT: A Survey was published in the August copy of Rural Voice and hopefully some replies will be sent in so that some action may be taken with the banks. The problem seems to be getting worse, even for farmers who would seem to be well established with few problems. CORN PRODUCERS: Gerald Poechman reported on the meeting with Corn Producers, and to date there are 1250 members in Ontario. More are needed and finances are a problem until membership increases more. Advance payment has been OK'd by the Federal Gov't and the funds have been set aside. Dennis Timbrell also seems to be in agree- ment. The Association has not yet been given the right for check -off. Advance payment is available to paid up members. The primary purpose of the Association is to gather informa- tion and research on corn. REGIONAL MEETINGS: - Two regional meetings will be set up for mid October, possible the 19th & 20th in Tara & Teeswater. Wayne Robert- son will be making the arrangements and reporting back to the office the details at least by Sept. 10 so that Toronto may get material out to all ISM's in each region. Speaker is as vet unknown. NEXT MEETING: Sept. 26th at 8:30 P.M. OMAF Boardroom, Walker- ton. Agenda to include: Tommy Cooper Award Draft Paper (each of you has a copy) Foreign Ownership Survey Paper (make sure to bring them all along) and OFA Future Directions Paper. BUDGET CUTS: Cliff Hewitt moved and Ivan Neilhausen seconded that a letter be prepared from the Bruce Federation to Dennis Timbrell to protest budget cuts at OMAF offices. Cliff will prepare a letter for Mary to type. Each individual was asked to send a hand written letter as well. The meeting was adjourned.LJ rrstarz:Ararsc-v:ka--,mi..1,ci-57 THE RURAL VOICE.
