Junior Farmers:
keeping busy
The South Huron Junior Farmers have
been very busy the past month and a half,
and have several upcoming events to
keep them even busier the next few
months.
A report on the president's workshop
in London was given by Maurice Ryan.
Maurice Ryan, Gerald Johns, Rob Essery
and Florence Ryan attended from the
club.
Mary Ryan reported on the progress of
the wooden benches that the club is
having made at ARC Industries for the
Kirkton Community Centre.
Florence Ryan reported on her trip to
Hosier Recreations Workshop in Indiana.
She encouraged anyone who had the
chance to go as it was very beneficial and
full of new ideas.
The County report outlined several
upcoming events: the mystery tour July
29 weekend: Oktoberfest, October 1;
March conference at Thunder Bay next
year with deadline for names being in the
fall and Canada's Wonderland Day for
Junior Farmers, July 22.
Heritage days are July 23 and members
are lookirg after the dance again this
year and the band is "Prairie Wing".
A very entertaining slide show fol-
lowed the meeting with Kevin Dutot and
Bill Armstrong showing their slides from
the Australian trip and Janet Shapton her
pictures. A special thanks to all three
was given by Mary Ryan on the club's
behalf.',
On exchange trip
Four Junior Farmer members will be
visiting Manitoba on an exchange trip
this summer. One of those is in our
readership area - Eleanor Gibson, R.R. 1,
Fordwich.
