The Rural Voice, 1983-07, Page 55South Huron Junior Farmers: keeping busy The South Huron Junior Farmers have been very busy the past month and a half, and have several upcoming events to keep them even busier the next few months. A report on the president's workshop in London was given by Maurice Ryan. Maurice Ryan, Gerald Johns, Rob Essery and Florence Ryan attended from the club. Mary Ryan reported on the progress of the wooden benches that the club is having made at ARC Industries for the Kirkton Community Centre. Florence Ryan reported on her trip to Hosier Recreations Workshop in Indiana. She encouraged anyone who had the chance to go as it was very beneficial and full of new ideas. The County report outlined several upcoming events: the mystery tour July 29 weekend: Oktoberfest, October 1; March conference at Thunder Bay next year with deadline for names being in the fall and Canada's Wonderland Day for Junior Farmers, July 22. Heritage days are July 23 and members are lookirg after the dance again this year and the band is "Prairie Wing". A very entertaining slide show fol- lowed the meeting with Kevin Dutot and Bill Armstrong showing their slides from the Australian trip and Janet Shapton her pictures. A special thanks to all three was given by Mary Ryan on the club's behalf.', On exchange trip Four Junior Farmer members will be visiting Manitoba on an exchange trip this summer. One of those is in our readership area - Eleanor Gibson, R.R. 1, Fordwich. YOUNG FARMER Tractor Safety 1. Do not ride double on a tractor. 2. Make sure no one is behind the tractor or in front. 3. If you are small, do not touch the tractor. 4. If you are plowing the field, make sure no one is playing there. 5. Do not carry a gun on the tractor. 6. If you are in a tractor, do not fool around in it. 7. Do not go under the tractor. 8. If the tractor is broken, take it to the repair. 9. Do not let little kids near a tractor. 10.
