The Rural Voice, 1983-07, Page 24IN THE NEWS Six young women who were competing for the Pork Hostess job at this year's Ontario Pork Congress were presented to the 1500 people attending the Perth County Dairy and Pork Festival on June 3rd. Earlier in the day each girl had a brief interview with the three judges (Stratford Mayor Ted Blowes, Tom Turner from the OPP- MB and Bev Brown, co -publisher of The Rural Voice) and gave a two minute speech on the Ontario Pork Congress. Winner was Mary O'Grady from Castleton. who was sponsored by the Northumberland Junior Farmers.
