Speedy and Scrawny Ronnie
On April 11th my dad's pig had 13 babies and one died
then that made us down to 12 pigs. But one was a special
little baby pig. It was very scrawny so I decided to call him
Scrawny Ronnie but for short Ronnie.
Every night we had to feed him oatmeal pablum with
milk. We used to feed him with a needle without the
needle. But now we feed our pig Ronnie with an old
popbottle that is rinsed out and a nipple for animals on
the top.
After we were done feeding Ronnie we had to do the
chores. First we give the pigs some chop and water, then
the cows get some hay but three cows get rolled oats and
the one gets bran.
Then there's our other pig Speedy. Do you know why we
called her Speedy? Why do you ask? I'll tell you why.
She'll be running along the floor and all of a sudden she'll
fall on her side and skid. And then she's all dirty. Our pig
Speedy is one of the biggest pigs in the litter.
One night while I was feeding Ronnie, my uncle told me
I should write a story about Ronnie. And wouldn't you
know it, the next day at school our teacher said
something about a farm thing called Rural Voice
competition. At first I thought it was a singing
competition and would be a farm song. But, was I relieved

when I heard it was a magazine and we had to go in it. I
felt like barfing. So then I drew a picture of my pig and our
cow that was in heat. Then I wrote a poem of a farm. And
now I'm writing a story on my two pigs Ronnie and
Speedy.
