The Bruce County Federation of Agri-
culture held its first meeting of the new
year January 24th at the OMAF office in
Walkerton. Thirty directors were in
attendance for the meeting.
The treasurer's report was received by
the board, reviewed, moved by Ron
Garland and seconded by Ray Fischer.
Passed. It was decided by the board to
send three people to the Seminar for
Vital People March 3rd in Chesley. Ron
Garland, Wayne Robertson and Ken
Kelly were chosen to attend.
Fran McAuley, Mary Harvie and Mar-
garet Keith were chosen to represent
the BCFA at the Ontario Rural Women's
Study March 1 in Hanover.
Doug Gowanlock issued the directors
with updated lists of the township
memberships. Doug will provide an
update each month of any changes to
these lists. Doug is actively involved in
membership drives and will be calling
upon township directors to help him on
the recruitment drives.

being printed to show the plans as they
now stand.
BCFA has been requested to arrange
a presentation meeting for the Tommy
Cooper award. A tentative date of
March 25 was chosen as a Meet the
Members night at which time the award
would be presented.
Executive directors for the upcoming
year were elected. Those elected are
Allan Smith, Ted Fischer, Grant Collins
and Cliff Hewitt. Other committees

Glen Sawyer gave an update on the
new power line. It now appears that the
new line from Douglas Point will paral-
lel one of the existing lines across the
county. No firm decision has been
made as yet.
Next meeting will be held Monday,
February 28, 1:30 p.m. at the OMAF
office in Walkerton.
