JANUARY MEMBERS MEETING
EXETER HIGH SCHOOL
Thursday, January 6, 1983 65 present
The meeting started at 7:15 with a slide film br'ing shown
by Dave Gowing of Farm Credit Corporation after which he
answered many questions. At this time there was a break for
coffee before the actual meeting began.
President Tony McQuail opened the meeting by welcoming
everyone and then turned the chair over to First Vice President
Jim McIntosh to chair the Panel Discussion session. Members
of the panel were Dave Gowing: Farm Credit Corporation, Bob
Morris: Regional Manager of Agricultural Services from the
Toronto -Dominion Bank, and Paul McCusker from Federal
Business Development Bank, Stratford. The topic was "How
to Survive in Todays Downturn Economy".
Each gentleman was given 15 minutes to make his
presentation. Following the presentations. questions were

The first annual Huron -Perth Director Orientation and
Education Seminar will be held on Thursday, February 24,
1983. All Directors on both the Huron and Perth Federations
of Agriculture are asked to attend, in order that the day be a
successful one. Your participation is a must, as this will be
the time when questions and answers will be asked and given,
regarding your duties, responsibilities, and the role you play
within the OFA and in your county. Recent OFA Achieve-
ments will be described, and workshops will be set up
involving topics such as, communications, duties and
responsibilities of OFA Directors, County and Provincial,
member services of OFA, and motovation and leadership in a
voluntary organization. There will be guest speakers from the
OFA Provincial organization. Please be sure to attend this
function. as one of your activities in this new Federation year!

Time: Registration and coffee 9:30-10:00 a.m.
Adjournment: No later than 4:00 p.m.

points were raised from the discussion period.
At the conclusion of the discussion ,the panelists were
thanked by President Hugh Rundle of Usborne Township and
presented with gifts of maple syrup.
Coffee, fruit bread and cheeses were then served by
members of Usborne and Stephen Federations of Agriculture.

will be a presentation of the preliminary
working paper on a re -structuring of the
OFA. A discussion period will follow.
Also, a representative from the Ontario
Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax Department will be
present at this meeting to speak and
answer questions about the use of dye in
diesel fuel and any other question on filing
for fuel tax rebate.
