It's quite amazing the University of Western
Ontario would be doing research of an agricultural
nature even though they have no agricultural
related courses on their curriculum. Writer Alice
Gibb checks this out and finds they are actually
working on four very vital projects for our benefit.
Machinery repairs have to be done and now is a
good time when machine shops are looking for
work and have the time to do them and when you
have the time to take a look at your farm
equipment. Better now than in the spring. See our
feature on pages 24 and 25.
We've added another page of new products and
services available to farmers under the title of
"What's New?" When we get new releases of this
nature, we'll pass them on to you.
A real selection this month. Trakehner horses,
Grey Bruce Farmers Week, Wills, Part II; chain
saw basics and some book reviews on commodity
marketing.
Farmers seem to be lucky, in some ways. They
have a wealth of information at their finger tips,
through OMAF, government releases, seminars,
interesting meetings and knowledgeable guest
speakers. Don't know of any other business that
has so many opportunities to better itself.
There's a good selection of events of interest in
Country Calendar, a whole page full. Most of them
free. Some of the best things in life are.
