Agriculture Appreciation Week
in Huron County
The week prior to Thanksgiving has been proclaimed
Agriculture Week for all of Canada. Huron County intends to do
their share in telling the story of the agri-food industry. Members
of the Huron County Federation of Agriculture, have arranged a
bus trip for urban people, from the Kitchener, London and
Toronto areas to visit our county and get a first-hand look at life
on the farm.
Visitors will see typical farms operating in their usual manner.
Billets will be arranged on farms and visitors will experience a
true impression of rural life. The visitors will learn about the
accomplishments of the agri-food industry, the productivity of
farmers, the small percentage of disposable income spent on
food, the quality, great variety of our produce and the dedication
and skill of farmers. We need to educate the public about the
importance of the agri-food system to the economy of our nation.
The tour has been arranged for September 11 & 12.
