Down North
Guy Deveau, an only child from the city is
sent to spend the summer in Cape Breton
Island on his grandfather's farm while his
parents settle their divorce. Suddenly this
lonely. self-centered thirteen year old
becomes the focus of a huge family of aunts,
uncles and cousins. He is almost over-
whelmed by the shock of a rural lifestyle that
includes 12 -hour workdays, but with his
grandfather's love and patience he learns to
make his way and face his difficult future,
bringing joy to his new found family

the weddings, ceremonies and songs of a
