Clinton Public School 8:30 p.m.
Approximately 60 persons attended the meeting chaired by
President Gerry Fortune. Minutes of the last monthly meeting
were passed as printed in the Rural Voice on a motion by Jim
McIntosh, seconded by Bob Coleman. Carried.
Doug. Garniss, Chairman of the Drainage and Soil Erosion
Committee introduced the 3 guest panelists. Norm Alexander;
Soil Conservation Association of North America, Lawrence
Taylor; Huron County Soil & Crop Association and Tom Prout;
Bayfield-Ausable Conservation Authority. Each person spoke
individually followed by a discussion and question session from
members. Kevin Kale thanked the panelists and presented each
with a gift.
President Gerry announced Fieldman Bill Crawford's pro-
motion to OFA Staff in Toronto, thus leaving us without a
Fieldman for a short time until a replacement arrives. She would
like to have two or three membership canvasses in Huron before
Bill leaves, tentative dates are Tues., Jan. 12 & Wed., Jan. 13 in
. Hullett, and Goderich and Usborne on Jan. 18, 19, 20, and 21/82.
Anyone who can help please contact Gerry, John Nesbit or the
County office.
Merle Gunby explained the assistance program set up by
Henderson for farmers. Forms can be picked up at your OMAF
office. These applications were to be effective Jan. 4/82.
Alvin Becker, OFMA Dealer from Hay Township requested that
HCFA assist him financially with advertising in Rural Voice. It
was suggested that the names and addresses of both OFMA
Dealers in Huron be announced on our page in Rural Voice.
Motion by Merle G., that Mr. Becker be allowed to bring samples,
price lists, etc. to our monthly meetings periodically to assist his
sales, seconded by Walter Elliott. Carried.
