The province will rebate 100% of tax on farm land buildings with the farm owner responsible for paying the taxes in full on all his own farm residences. The minimum farm sales will have to be 515,000 indexed at farm price index. OFA wants a $6000 level. The Province hopes to have this system in effect for the 1982 tax year. Fieldman Bill Crawford showed a short slide presentation on some of the hi -lights of the 1980 OFA Convention to give any members who have never attended an idea of what goes on. The minutes of last years Regional meetings were read, approved on a motion by John Van Beers, seconded by Bev Brown. Carried. - no business from minutes. Guest Speaker for the evening, Fred Lobb of H. Lobb & Son Equipment Dealers was introduced by Bob Lawson, Fred is the President of Ontario Farm Machinery Dealers of Ontario. Mr. Lobb spoke on problems and situations of dealers and farmers from both sides. He was thanked by Ralph DeWeerd. Fred then answered questions from the audience. Resolutions for OFA Convention could be presented; however there were none received. Elections were then held for Regional Directors for the year upcoming, as well as three delegates from each region to attend the OFA Convention in November. Following were the results: South Huron Region: Reg. Dir.: Andre Durand Delegates to Convention: Albert Erb, Hugh Rundle, Ralph Geiger. West Central Region: Reg. Dir.: John Nesbit Delegates to Convention: John VanBeers, Ralph DeWeerd, Doug Garniss North West Huron Region: Reg. Dir.: Merle Gunby Delegates to Convention: Jim Drennan, Walter Elliott, Tony McQuail North East Region: Reg. Dir.: Gerry Fortune Delegates to Convention: John Stafford, Brian Jeffray, Mary Beth Mann. The meeting adjourned at 11:10 p.m. with coffee and cookies.
