The Rural Voice, 1981-06, Page 12On the farm When I get up in the morn, I go to the barn and feed corn. Then dad goes up and feeds the hay, While down in the barn cows are eating away. Then after lunch there's lots to do, Farmers don't have much time to snooze. At last it's night and time for bed, I'm so tired I feel like I'm dead! Rodney Husk R.R. 2, Kincardine Age 10 Elizabeth Johnston, 9 Elma Township Public School PG. 10 THE RURAL VOICE/JUNE 1981 My Story Hi I'm Angie Ried. I'm going to tell you my story. Well it all began when 1 was in momy's tummy. See I was born on a farm outside of Listowel. Then moved to town then after a little while we moved to Brucefeild, I Liked it aLot there I bote a pig and called him willber, I Loved him I gave all my money up but it was worth it because 1 Loved him and he Loved me, and that all that counts. The day we took him to the place were you take them when you move. The next morning at 5:00 clock feeding him playing with him and riding him. When we went that morning I was so scared that they would use him for meat!!!That morning when I got there I found out that he would not be used for meat and he was going to be shipped to toronto and that he was worth $90 dollors, 1 cryed that morning but I said to myself he will have a good place to stay then I went to school. Then we moved Back to town. By Angela Lynn Reid Seaforth, Ont. 73 Market St., Age 8, Why I am glad I don't live on a farm I'm glad I don't live on a farm because farming isn't in my blood, and I doubt if it ever will be. I live in the country. where the farmers roam. My dad has a shop for doing work for farmers and other people. Farming is alright for some people and is very important. It's just that I would rather do other things than sit on a tractor and wait for the frost or rain to come and destroy my crop. Working for a company you make a regular salary while a farmer may go bankrupt. Farming would be nice for a while but not for my whole life. Living on a farm it is hard to get away. That is why 1 am glad I do not live on a farm. Wayne McConnell R.R. 2 Auburn Age 13 P.S. I don't have anything against farmers because my best friend are farmers.
