Resolutions: The following resolutions were placed at the

1 Whereas the Ministry of Natural Resources is using display
material which is outdated and would lead hunters to believe

update their display material to comply with the newTrespass
Act and Owners Liablility Act. Moved by Dave Keith, seconded
PG. 38 THE RURAL VOICE/FEBRUARY 1981
by Ted Fishcer. Amendment -- "trespass" be changed to
"entry." Moved by Eldon MacKinnon, seconded by Wayne
Robertson. Carried.
2. Whereas the Ministry of Transportation Local Office will not
accept cheques unless they are certified, and whereas the
amount of cash involved for purchasing vehicle licenses is more
than the average person wishes to carry and more than licensing
offices wish to have on hand. therefore be it resolved that OFA
petition the Ministry of Transportation to make personal cheques
acceptable at Ministry Local offices. Moved by Wayne
Robertson, seconded by Eldon MacKinnon. Amendment --"and
more than licensing offices would like to have on hand" be
omitted. Moved by Evan Keith, seconded by Don Johnson.
Carried.
3. Whereas the quality of an organization such as ours is
judged by the quality of its constitution and how closely it
adheres to that constitution, and whereas our constitution is not
very well defined in some areas such as "formation of
committees." "election and or appointment of directors," "fees
for member organizations," "election rules for officers."
Therefore be it resolved that the Bruce County Federation of
Agriculture form a constitutional Amendment Committee to
study these areas and report back to our 1981 annual meeting
with amendments to our constitution and or a written report.
Moved by Don Johnson, seconded by Jim Powers. Amendment
-- "executive directors" be added before Bruce County
Federation of Agriculture. Moved by Eldon MacKinnon,
seconded by Doug Jones. Carried. Amendment -- delete first
"whereas." Moved by Giselle Ireland. seconded by John
MacAuley. Carried.
4. Whereas the beaver population has increased dramatically
and are a real problem in damming waterways, therefore be it
resolved that we ask the Ministry of Natural Resources to take
appropriate action to resolve this problem. Moved by Frank
Murray. seconded by Evan Keith that it will be passed for its
principle and bring it up at the next directors meeting. Carried.
5. Whereas when the Canadian Government introduced the
Grain Embargo against Russia, the Canadian Government
promised that farmers would be protected and reimbursed for
any losses due to the said embargo, and whereas the embargo
has caused during its imposition severe distortion to the grain
markets and caused financial loses to grain farmers and also has
disrupted livestock production. Therefore be it resolved that the
OFA should press the Federal Government for compensation due
to farmers who have suffered under the Russia grain embargo.
Moved by Wayne Robertson. seconded by John MacAuley.
Carried.
