There are now over 50 varieties made in Canada,
so it should be easy to "Buy Canadian"
We gleaned through our selection of
cookbooks that have been sent to us from
church and other local groups in the area -
to get a variety of recipes using cheese.
Hope you like our selection.
MACARONI REPUBLIC
4 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. salt
'/: lb. macaroni
1/2 c. butter
1 c. onion rings
2 tbsp. green pepper, finely chopped
31/2 c. canned tomatoes
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. salt
'/a tsp. pepper
11/2 c. grated cheese
Place macaroni in boiling water to which
salt has been added. Cook 15-20 min. Rinse
and drain macaroni. Melt butter in skillet,
add onions and green pepper. Saute until
tender. Add tomatoes and seasonings and
allow to simmer 5 min. Pour over macaroni
and mix thoroughly. Place mixture in
buttered casserole dish in alternative
layers with cheese. Bake in 375°F oven 45
min. Serves 6-8.

GREEN BEANS PARMESAN
1'h cups corn flakes
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
6 slices bacon, cut in small pieces
'/2 cup finely chopped onions
1 qt. (2 lbs.) cooked green beans
'4 tsp. salt
Toss crumbs with cheese, set aside. Fry
bacon in large frypan until almost crisp.
Add onions, Fry until tender. Drain off
most of bacon drippings. Stir in very well
drained beans and salt. Heat thoroughly.
Just before serving, toss crumb mixture
