It's not fair
By Mary Anderson, 12, R.R.1, Bornholm
My name is Mary. I think that it's
unwise for the people not in farming to get
into farming when the price of pigs, cows
etc. are good. It doesn't make sence
because when the price of pigs, cows etc.
goes down they go out of business. Then
when the pigs, cows etc. goes up again
they go back in. It makes it bad for the
farmer that has been farming all his life
and has to live on farm money. It's not fair.

There once was a man...
BY JAMES FULLERTON

AGE 8
There once was a man named Carman.
He thought he would start in the farming.
So he planted some wheat right under his
feet.
Oh! What a funny man named Carman.
(This poem was put on a homemade
birthday card for his Dad.)

The crow is dark black,
It caws over the corn field,
It likes to eat corn.

1 like to go to my Grandma's place in the
country. My Grandma has a farm. I like to
walk in the fields because I can feel the
warm sun. When I go into the fields I see
robins. When I went home 1 made a story.
When 1 got home I read it to Mom and Dad.
They liked it very much. Then I went to
beu. 1 dreamed about Gi andma!s place.
