As the leaves turn and fall comes on it's nostalgia time at Village Squire. Nostalgia for turn -of -the -century towns and themes that a collection of old postcards evokes. We've got some super examples on this month's cover and with Dean Robinson's story on page 1. Fall is a time for remembering trips to quiet country places, like the Vermont travel story that starts on page 11. Daytripping tells you about closer to home travels, to Dresden and Uncle Tom's Cabin Museum. Then a local -boy -makes -good, Ken Larone of TV Guide remembers growing up in Seaforth and says it gave him a competitive edge. And to remind you that Blyth, Grand Bend and Stratford don't have the only shows in town, Village Squire covers Western Ontario's booming amateur or little theatre scene. For a look at the playbills this winter and a profile of very involved little theatre veteran Floyd Herman, see page 6. When you finish reading and are ready for some action, turn to Around Town section. It's full of things to do for fun all over Western Ontario. Next month watch for our November Christmas shopping issue. And we're looking for entries in our Christmas short story contest, deadline Oct. 29, 1000 to 2000 words. The winner will be published in the December Village Squire and will receive a prize of $25. Speaking of Christmas, we've got a special offer for Village Squire gift subscriptions.
