Bidding for bargains
There was a time, maybe 20 years ago, when an astute few
attended estate auctions and picked up remarkable
antiques at ridiculous prices. But the prices of those pieces
has risen hand in hand with the public's appreciation,
and so, too. perhaps has the auction business changed.
The Squire will bid to find out.
The fishing tradition
For decades, Bayfield's McLeod family has been
associated with Lake Huron's fishing industry and their
work includes every step, from the catch to smoking some
of the final product. Stratford writer Dean Robinson, u
seafarer himself, reports on a day fishing with the
Mcleods.
