of the new SHUR-GAIN Computerized
Feeding Program by explaining how it
worked at the SHUR-GAIN Research Farm.
"We split our fifty cow milking herd in
two and put each section in turn on a
computerized feeding program There was
no noticeable increase in milk production
above the regular 15.500 Ib. average...But,
the computer program produced the same
amount of milk, with same fat test, at 39C
per cwt. less feed cost. In our herd that's
$58 11 per week or $3,022 per year saved.'
