The Rural Voice, 1979-07, Page 48Vzuce eoery 9edetateaa ai iirytieuttune The Bruce County Federation of Agriculture held it's semi annual meeting and banquet in Paisley June 1st, 1979. The attendance was down from past years, it was an excellent planting night in a catchy year . About 100 people were at the banquet. The guest speaker, Norman Seabrook, talked on the Niagara Escarp- ment problem. He spoke as a member of the Niagara Escarpment Northern Ratepayers Association and was quick to point out that actions taken by the Niagara Escarpment Commission threaten the rights of all landowners, not just those under the direct planning area of the escarpment. Mr. Seabrook and others have been involved with work on the Niagara Escarpment planning since 1968 and he feels, contrary to some current news reports, that the fight will continue for some years to come. The degree of infringement of personal property owners rights by this commission and the Ontario Government are alarming. His concern is obvious and he succeeded in passing on this concern to most of those present. The heal and meeting were followed by a dance. A good time was had by all.
