table such as coloured construction paper,
glue, tape. beads, buttons. small scissors.
crayons. coloured pencils. markers. string
or yarn, etc.
Baking is another suggestion as a gift
but Barb cautions to be sure to wrap all the
,bits very carefully and closely to assure
that they're as good when the recipient
tries them as when they leave your kitchen.
Christmas cake, plum puddings, cookies
and squares, candies, pastries, yeast
breads and specialities such as granola,
fruit and or nut snack mixtures, etc. with
casseroles or only need heating food—be
prepared to leave the container with the
recipient too.
A favourite treat would probably be
preserves such as some of your favourite
relish or a iar of strawberry conserve .
Shut-ins often appreciate small amounts
of a variety of treats—a couple ounces of
cashews. a baby food jar of chili sauce, a
muffin. small bunch of grapes and a small
jar of apple cider.
Barb also has some ideas as to how the
gifts should be packaged.
"Line boxes with bright tissue paper and
perhaps tuck something extra such as a
piece of mistletoe or a bright lollipop in to
make your gift even more special.
