This man, dedicated to his vocation ,as

call of duty. lie always put ethers :first.

Former Lucknow High School stuck
A highlight sof homecoming at the
University of Guelph on September 29
was the renaming of the Land Resource
Science ,btiilding in honour of former OAC
dean N.R. "Rick" f3iehards. Dr. Richards
took his primary : schooling at Paramount
School S9S No. 14 and attended Lucknow
Haigh ;School. He is.:a son sof the late Dick
and .;Annie Richards, who dived on the
boundary 'west. the .following is the ,cita-

council briefs
Lueknow village council met on Oc-
tober 10 with all members present and
welcomed the newest councillor, Stuart
Reavie, to his first meeting.
An application by Gerrie Glenn Inc.,
for an extension off his subdivision ap-
proval to October 21, 1990 was
approved.
Oil tenders received were opened with
the lowest tender from Hamilton Fuels
being accepted.
The snow removal tender of Kinloss
Sand and Gravel was accepted after all
tenders had been opened.
Council voted in favour of renewing
the contract with Business Computer
Services for the processing of tax bills
for 1990.
An assessment open house is planned
for November 28, 1 to 8 p.rn.
The five year forecast for Connecting
Link work was discussed and referred
to B.M. Ross.
Bylaw 14-1989, being a bylaw to
authorize an agreement for the
establishment and joint operation of a
solid waste recycling program was
given first and second reading.
The Lucknow Branch of the Royal
Canadian Legion was given permission
to conduct a poppy canvass in the
village in 1989. The village will purchase
a wreath for Remembrance Day.
Council approved payment of village
accounts in the amount of $68,202.16,
hydro accounts $44,803.53, waterworks
accounts, $2,242.87 and payroll $7,935.81.

the detachment invesitgated a break
and enter, wilful damage, three thefts,
a mischief complaint, and five motor
vehicle accidents.
