Bruce Presby
The court of Bruce Presbytery conven-
ed in the United Church, .Elmwood, on
September 19, with Rev. John Oestreicher
chairing the meeting and opening with
prayer.
Welcome was extended to a new
member of Presbytery, Rev. John
Benham, whose Covenanting Service is
slated for October 5 at Paitnerston United
.Church.
In the worship service Rev. Norman
Perry .of Kincardine led the .singing ac-
companied .by Rev. Barbara McMath at
the -piano. Rev. McMath's meditation
centered around The 2Ist Psalm when she
•spoke of our faith, our sacred spots and
our pilgrimage. From this passage comes
'the assurance that God will not let our
foot be moved but that He will keep .us
in our comings .and goings.
In his report for the Division of
Finance, Len Patterson of Harriston,
warned of an increase in 'Presbytery .dues
for -next year. 'Bruce Presbytery is one of
the lowest assessments in the Conference
area. Mr. Patterson has been appointed
Chairman of Finance for Hamilton
Conference.

munications. Presbytery expectafons in-

concerns and publicizing of events.
Three young ladies, Leanne Kreuger,
Ruth MacDougall and Shelly Pinder, who
attended the Kairos Conference in Win-
nipeg, attended sharing a most in-
teresting and enthusiastic account of their
work at the conference.
An evening meeting beamed to youth
leaders on Zones 2 and 4 of Bruce
Presbytery has been planned as a pot

the following books were enthusiastically
introduced: Donkey Daniel by Janice
Kramer; Dear Daughter of Colleen Ivy
Hartsoe; The Wanderer by Erick We-

Lee and Fresh Winds of the Spirit by
Lavon Bayler.
A resource fair is planned for
November 22 and 23 at St. James United
Church, Watertown. A Bruce Presbytery
Retreat :is scheduled for October 30 at In-
spiration Place, with Rev. Kelly Walker
of Bolton as leader.
Rev. Murray Rounding of Elmwood re-
quested all members of all congregations
to send °bins Canadian Tire money for use
in support of Silver Lake Camp.

Mickie Wight of Lucknow visited with
Ruby Bonnett and Ab Wylds on Sunday
afternoon.
Tota and Betty Schmidt called here last
Friday -while -entering her sheaves -wheat,
oats and barley in the Ripley fall fair.

Also here on Friday was Glenn .Dickson
of • Moorefield after finishing his judging the
grain .show at Ripley.
Betty Schmidt was The top winner ..in the
sheaf rials 1st for barley .& grand cham-
pion 1st for oats, :1st for wheat and reserve
champion. -Ten sheaves in all were -entered
including Schmidt's from Mildmay .and
MacDonald's of Buren Township.
Miss Marion Munn and Mrs. Adeline
Ladd (nee 'Harris) spent the meek of Aug.
21 at Mr. Ken Pottier.'s cottage .at Bruce
Beach. 'While there she visited with her
brother Br. JD. Munn at his farm at
Blair's Grove .as well as old friends and
acquaintances in Ripley.

Celebrates '25 years
Susan MacKenzie and Pat =Murray from
the Ontario Housing Corporation visited
-Huron Villa (Senior Citizen's Ripley) on
Tuesday, Sept. 26. The Ontario Rousing is
celebrating its 25th Anniversary and Huron
Villa was presented with an award in
recognition of beautification of the grounds.
