Skateboards and
bikers asked
to refrain from
using sidewalks
A little reminder to those using
skateboards and bicycles on the
sidewalks this week - your cooperation
it refraining from using the sidewalks
for this type of recreation would be
appreciated.
Pedestrians, in particular many of
our senior citizens, become quite con-
cerned when approaching young people
on either of these two items.
Remember, older bones are very brit-
tle,
rittle, break easily and take a long time
to mend and we know that area youth
would not want to be the cause of any
incident.

Not so long ago, Alex Chishohn of
Chisholm Wood Products Ltd. Dungan-
non, Jokingly commented to his mother
that it woaildn't be too long before wood
from his .business would find its way
across the ocean to another country. The
comment was made just after his pro-
ducts had been purchased by people in
the United States.
Last week, Mr. Chisholm saw his
dream come true, when 500 board feet of
pine planks left his shop bound by.:ship
for Cork County, Ireland. The trip will
take anywhere. from .sunt :to; i2 weeks. 'The
Purchaser
Pat McNinch of .Chepstow.has sold the
hotel he.and;bis wife owned for over six
years and they are returning to Ireland,
where 'Jhe will be ,e oyed m a family

x 1" pine Panics Will be used mainly for
floor boards. Pat bad'already booked a
container• for shipping his own : belongings,
and with room to :spare, ' he and . his
brother decided toship the planks over.
The- fact ,that this same lumber would be
twice the price in Ireland was the main
incentive.

Alex Chisholm is a carpenter by trade
with 17 years experience. ,Be was
employed by Royal Homes for a number
of years, but now is an independent con-
tractor. In 1906 he and his wife, Lynn,
opened ChishOhnlirood "Products and us-
ed his own wood 'for the interior on
homes.
During the winter months, he built
cabinets and found he ;ccldn't get erh
dry wood• Mr; Chid oim proceeded to in-
et'all his own .kiln .'for drying and now this
specialty shop- isable to provide quality
wood to`hobby fellows, cabinet shops and
smatcontractors. Custom drying is also
available. The process of drying .wood
has many interesting °facets and is not an
overnight accomplishment.
Trade has increased over the years and
the Chishohns look forward to .the : future
when they can devote their complete :at-
tention to this business.

It was entertaining to see politicians,
who balance budgets, .staff and ,policies
on a daily basis, try 'to balance plates
of roast beef as ;gracefully as possible.
There were no messy mishaps to -con-

everyone enjoyed their dinner and had
