Barr family hosts party for hamilton 's 25th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barr held a family
gathering on Sunday in honour of Mr.
and Mrs. Bruce Hamilton's .25th wed-
ding anniversary. There were 32 present
and all enjoyed .a ,smorgasbord dinner.
Besides the host and hostess Jack and
Joan were her mother, Mrs. Jane
Hamilton, the .honoured couple Bruce
and Margaret, Steven, Cathy and
Robert Hamilton; Mr. -and Mrs. Jinn
Morrison, Adam and Sarah; Mr. and
Mrs. Ray Guay, Susan and Laurie; Mr.
and Mrs. John Mowbray and Duncan;
Mr. and Mrs. Herb Buckton all of
Lucknow; Betty Hamilton and two
friends, Hilda Martins and Helen
Kiassen of St. Catharines; Mr. and Mrs.
Gary Fair, Jason and Lisa; Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Van de Klippe, April and
Jeffrey of Kincardine; Murray Barr and
Michele -Hodgins of here.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim . Young from Milton
have purchased Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Stanely's home on conc. 12. We welcome
the Youngs to our community.
On Tuesday afternoon former
neighbours and present neighbour ladies
:had' a most pleasant afternoon at Bessie
Maulden's home. Joan Barr was
chairperson and began with a welcome
to all and especially the ladies present
who had August birthdays. Most of the
ladies gave humorous readings or told
jokes to keep us laughing.
This mingled in with friendly chit-
chat.
Among the folks from the longest
distance were Winnifred Shaw from
Stayner, Doris Bushell of Wingham, who
composed a speciall poem for the day,
Gertie'Walsh, Mrs. Bert Nicholson and
Bernice Burt from Kincardine were so
happy to be back among former
neighbours.
Most of the 18 ladies had programa
numbers, which were all good.
The five August birthday ladies were
given cards and little remembrances.
We sang Happy Birthday. Cake, ice
cream and other goodies and tea were
served. Before our farewells were said
Gladys Robertson on behalf of all ex-
pressed appreciation for such an en-
joyable afternoon at Bessie's home.
'Tim Shaw of Stayner spent Tuesday
afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Terry
Burt.
The Shaw ladies from Stayner went
home to Kincardine to visit with Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Burt.
Mr. and Mrs. Douglad Jansen, Tiffany
and Amanda of Cochrane visited with
his grandparents, Mr, and Mrs. Alex
Percy and other relatives here.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. An-
drew Meyer who were married at In-
verhuron on Saturday. Andrew is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. John Meyer of
Holyrood.
Mr. and Mrs. Al Head of Calgary
spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs.
Ellwood Elliott, Bruce and David, con.

We extend sympathy to Mr. Edmund
Green of St. Helens and formerly of
con. 10 in the passing of his wife
Thelma. The funeral was held on Satur-
Kasen Ian Crimmings
Nine year old Kasen Crimmings, of R.
2, Holyrood, died suddenly on August 11,
1989, as a result of an accidental
drowning.
Kasen was a student at Lucknow Cen-
tral Public School.
He was born in Listowel on . January 8,
1980, a son of Michael and Brenda (Hart)
Crimmings, of R. 2,. Holyrood.
Kasen is survived by his parents, and
two brothers, ""Tagan and Conan, both at
home.
He is also survived by his grandparents
Maida -and :Ron Crimmings of Rockwood;
Arthur and'.Margaret MacKilligan; Ken-
neth Hart .of Cambridge, and his great
grandmother, Jennie Chesney of
Huronview.
A private family service was conducted
from the MacKenzie and McCreath
Funeral Home, Lucknow, on Monday,
August 14, ,by ...Rev..;G..McFarlane.
Interment in Greenhill :Cemetery,
Lucknow.

Thelma-'Evaline Green
Thelma Green of ,Pinecrest Nursing
Home, formerly of 'St. Helen's (R. 2,
Lucknow) .died in Wingham ,and District
Hospital on August 9, 1989. Mrs. Green
was a member of the Lucknow Anglican
Church.
"She was born in Hastings County on
June 21, 1914, to Enock Hunter and
Melinda Parker.
Mrs. Green is survived by her husband,
Edmund Green of. St. Helen's; one son,
Don and Loretta Rowe of Gravenhurst;
grandchildren, Laurie and Dale Rowe, of
Gravenhurst.
She was predeceased by her parents
and .a brother Hugh Hunter.
Visitation was at MacKenzie and
McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow. The
funeral service was -conducted from St.
Peter's Anglican Church on Saturday,
August 12. Rev. D. Atwell was in charge
of the service. Organist was Ann
Pritchard
Pallbearers were Don Taylor, Ross Er-
rington,. Allan Cranston, Jim Aitchison,
Jim Green and Dale Rowe.
Interment in Greenhill Cemetery,
Lucknow.

1, 1989 in his '78th :year.F`Mr.-1nDis had
been a farmer tall his .life in West
Wawanosh Township.
He was a veteran of World War II, a
member of the Royal Canadian Legion,
Branch 309 Lucknow :and the 'Whitechurch
Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Inglis was born in West Wawanosh
Township on January 19, 1914, :a son of
the late Thomas Inglis and Jenny
MacKenzie.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs.
Pauline Adams of R. 5, Lucknow, two
brothers John Of British Columbia and
Rod of YEarlton, as ,=wen as several nieces
and nephews.
Predeceasing him were his parents;
three brothers, Mac, Alex and Allan, and
two sisters, .Chrissy . and Betty. -
Visitation was at MacKenzie and
McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow. The
Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 309,
Lucknow and the Ladies Auxiliary con-
ducted a service on Friday night.
The funeral service was held from the
funeral home on August 12, 1989, by Rev.
J. Neilson of Whitechurch Presbyterian
Church. Mrs. Donalda Moffat was
organist.
Pallbearers were John Adams, David
Adams, Tom Inglis, Brian Inglis, Elroy
Laidlaw and Don Dow.
Interment Greenhill Cemetery,
Lucknow.

Back in the 1930's Don Willsie was on
the staff :of the Ripley Royal Bank. At his.
passing he was the loving -husband of the
late Etta mane of Ripley. Her brother
Walter Lane is among the mourners. Also
among these friends is Charles Baker,
known here for working on farms here
before going to the south .part of Ontario.;
Don WilLsie was among those getting'
the game of badminton going here - then
we ' had a team to play the game with
Kincardine, Lucknow. and Dungannon.
Reunion was held here

Cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom McDonald went to
London on Thursday for Nina's eye
appointment.
Bessie Maulden and Edna and May
Boyle were dinner guests on Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Dan McInnis of
Blyth. It was the second wedding an-
niversary of Mr. and Mrs. Dale McInnis
of Glencoe, and Dale's birthday.
The community extends its sympathy
to Mr. and Mrs. Michael Crimmings
and family on the loss of their dear son,
Kasen Crinunings, on August 11.
Visitors on Sunday with Bill and Lor-
raine McPHerson, Holyrood were Mr.
and Mrs. Leonard Rice of Milverton.
They enjoyed a drive in his 1914 Model T
touring car at Pine River.
Last weekend, Gordon McPherson of
Stratford visited with Gordon and
Lorraine.
family hosted a reunion of descendants of
Charles Liddle and Florence McMurchy
on Sunday August 6. Dinner was served
at the Legion. This was .followed by a
family "get together" at the home of
Doug and Irene Liddle on Main Street
South.
Out of town guests included Bob Liddle
from Souris, Manitoba and his sons John
of Guelph, David and Karen Liddle and
family from Brandon, Manitoba, Dinnie
and Helen Liddle of Oakville and their
family Donnie and Caroline of
Newmarket and Anne of Toronto, Ted
and Kathryn (Liddle) Marion (surname)
and family Elizabeth of Red Lake, Elaine
from Kingston, and Barb from Ottawa,
Jamie and Debbie Liddle and family of
