Lucknow teams have made a name for
themselves in all kinds of sports, :such as
hockey, baseball, bowling, and ether ac-
tivities. Last week two local ladies, Jean
Whitby and Jessie Chester added their
names tothe "Lucknow Ball ofFame" as
they won the first prize in Brktge at .the
District 27 Senior Games comprising
Bruce and Grey Counties held in Hanover.
They had previously won in Kincardine at
the Senior Games held there enabling
them to goon to the District Games. First
prize was gold trimmed inscribed mugs.

graduated from the University of Guelph
with a diploma in Agrletilture and Agra
Business. Attending Kin's graduation
were Bruce Higgins, Jae and Lila Itintosil

The Council of tie Village- of Lucknow is 'conducting
a contest, open to Lucknow residents only, to design ,
a pin for the Village. A -$50.00 prize will be awarded
to the winner. Council's decision will be final.
All entries must be received byihe undersigned ,by
June 1989.

Unit 1 of the Lueknow United Church
Women met on.Iune 8 at the home of
Isobel Miller and Helen Todd for a
potluck luncheon.
Deanna Reavie opened the meeting
with a poem "Grandma% Secret". Roll
call was a verse from Ithe Bible pertain-
ing to a season and was answered by
seven members.
The June mystery jar offering a love
gift - any amount was receiVed. The
treasurer's report was given by Isobel

Evelyn Cook reported on her visits.
Evelyn Cook had a poem, '"Gardens"

to start the prpgram. The hymn, "This
is my Pellet.% World" was followed by
the scripture reading. Laura Hare had
the meditations, "Your Own Baekyard".
Helen Todd led in the participation of
the Least Coin from Switzerland. The
woman of the Bible was on Hannah
given by Evelyn Cook. We all sang, "0
Master, Let Me Walk With Thee" before
'The Summer Parable" and a prayer by
Evelyn Cook closed the meeting.

Camp Kintail
Camp Kintail became alive with the
sounds o excitement and laughter recent-
ly when the fourth ammal Children's Rally
sponsored' by Maitland Presbyter.ial
W.M.S. was held there. Two hundred and
forty-four people including 174 children
from churches in Molesworth, Brussels,
Teeswater, 1Chicardine and all points in
between gathered for a fun filled evening.
All enjoyed a hot dog supper. Children
ranging from kindergarten to grade 8 par-
ticipated in activities based on the theme,
"The Bible". These included crafts,
games, nature walk, music and worship.
Rev. Scott Sinclair, Director of Camp
Kintail presented an excellent video to
everyone present about the camp and its
opportunities and beauty available to all
who visit there. After campfire and a
singsong, another very successful
Children's Rally came to a close.
By-law lumber 8-1989 was passed on
May 15 establishing the mill rates for 1989
resulting in an increase of 14.475 percent.
The increase is mainly due to the Bruce
County Board of Education levy increase
of $69,867.00 br 23.08%. The total levy
for Kinloss is $372,578,00 to be paid in
four instalments. The mill rate for the
school board is 32.107 (26.162 for 1988).
The Tovmship mill4ate is up one mill
whieh .is the Mitt increase in over five
yems leing 13.652 (32.6521or198518 1988).
The Comity/rill ratetis down .20% 'being
6,729 (7.037 fOr1988).
The Bruce Grey Roman Catholic
Separate School mill rate is up 24.0%.the
mill rate for 1989 being 32.08 (26.135 for
1988).
Councilpassed emotion appointing Don-
na McBride as representRtive to the
Wingham and District Hospital board for
the Township of Kinloss and the Village of
Lucknow for the next term.
On behalf of council, a letter of sincere
appreciation has been forwarded to Jean
Whitby for her four years as represen-
tative for Lucknow and Kinloss on the
Wingham and District Hospital Board.
All councillors, and the clerk received
correspondence from John Meyer of
Bolyrood concerning items which he con-
siders a problem at Holyrood., These in-
clude parking, zoning violation and
gencialliousek igatthecorner.
Council replied that the parking is a
County matter, that there is no zoning
violation and that the housekeeping is not
unsatisfactory.
A by-law was passed updating the provi-
sion forlicencing, regulation and regist* ra-
tion Of dogs in the Township.
