The second .Sunday in May is the day
when mother's are honoured with remem-
brances ranging from bouquets of
dandelions and children's first art -work to
expensive presents, flowers and dinner at
their favourite restaurant.
In Lucknow United Church the children
of the Sunday School provided the special
music, singing several appropriate songs.
In the Presbyterian church the men's
choir sang and Lorne Forster and Dale
Haldenby sang a duet. Baptismal services
were held for Andrew Dale, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Dale Gammie; John Gordon, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Barry Elphick; Elise Joyce
Verna, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger
Matthews and Brandon Alfred Noble, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Storey and great-
grandson of Jessie Johnston. Danny and
Brenda Finos of Toronto are the god-
parents of Brandon Storey and par-
ticipated in the service.
Barry and Debra Elphick entertained
their parents and grandparents to a noon
luncheon at their home and Vana Gammie
entertained the Gammie relatives to din-
ner at five o'clock. Rev. Allison and
Priscilla Ramsay were included in both
parties.
Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs.
Alex Andrew and family in the passing of
his brother Arthur Andrew last week.

Toronto visited with Jessie Johnston one
day last week.
We are sorry to hear that Mrs. William
Hogan fell and broke her hip on Sunday
evening. She was being transferred from
Wingham to Stratford Hospital on
Monday.
Mrs. Evelyn Little is a patient in Room
8N, 17A in 'University Hospital, London
where she is recovering from surgery.
David, Connie, Daniel "and Michael
Kreutzweiser of Sault Ste. Marie are
visiting this week with his parents John
and Anna Kreutzweiser.
John and Janet Johnstone of Ajax_ spent
the weekend with his parents Gordon and
Bernice Johnston.
The ladies of the Presbyterian Church
hosted the birthday party at Pinecrest on
Monday for all the residents that have bir-
thdays in May.
On the. weekend Rapid City lost their
shoot challenge on home turf.

Concert
Band
Lucknow Community Centre was filled to capacity on Friday night to hear the Lucknow
School Concert Band perform their annual spring concert. This marked the 20th year
that Gord Cayley has directed the band. Former members \compiled a scrapbook of let-
ters and poems relating their memories of their years in the band and presented it to Mr.
Cayley. Playing the trombones is Seth MeNall and Steve Bushell.
