The totals are in! This year at their an-
nual conference in March, the members of
the Junior Farmers' Association of On-
tario (JFAO) raised over $30,000.00 to

cause, received the cheque at the annual
banquet.
Waterloo Junior Farmers issued a
challenge to see which country -or zone
could have the most change to help them
fill a Volkswagen. Zone 7 consisting of the
counties of Perth, Bruce, Grey and Huron
won that challenge by pouring $769.00 into
the VW. The total collected in the bug was
approximately $2,000.00.

The Junior Farmers' Association of On-
tario continues to be one of Ontario's
leading organizations for the self develop-
ment of rural youth. Through workshops in
social recreation, public speaking, and
leadership, the members are able to im-
prove themselves. Members of the JFAO
.may also travel to other -provinces, the
U.S. and internationally. Their interest in
community betterment is evident in the
dollars raised for the annual conference
and on a local scale by various means
within their respective counties.

FROM WORK AREA
A large number of farm injuries happen
to children under the age of fifteen. While
children can be very helpful around any
farm, they lack maturity and the
knowledge of danger areas associat with
farming. Take time to explain .. ,fety
precautions to teenagers. Young children
should be kept clear of all work ,areas.
Never allow children on or around your
equipment.. Prevent children from having
injuries on your farm. "DO IT OUR WAY -
IT WON'T HURT". This . has been a
message from the Farm Safety
Association.
