Davis' visit in Whitechurch
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Davis, Mark and
Scott of La Salle spent the weekend with
Agnes Farrier.
Doris Caeser returned home last week
from a visit to Calgary to visit with her son
Randy.
Nelson Smith from Markham visited a
few days with Mr. and Mrs. Russel
Chapman.
Mr. and Mrs. John deBoer visited on
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ron Nicholson
and family of Egmonville.

The Whitechurch U.C.W. meeting was
held on May 3 in the home of Mrs. Clifford
Laidlaw. The topic was sing, say or pay.
Agnes Farrier gave the call to worship.
Margaret Sleightholm read the scripture
from Mathew 25, 18-29.

what kind of luggage are you carrying
around.
Ten answered the rollcall by con-
tributing to the meeting by singing,
readings and Bible contest. The offering
and least coin were received.
Mrs. Farrier gave the offertory prayer,
and thanked the hostess and closed with
prayer. Grace was sung and the hostess
served lunch.
Quilters receive tipson machine appliqueing
The Five Star Quilters Guild held their
April meeting in the Teeswater Town Hall.
The rollcall was answered by 36 ladies
displaying their Sunbonnet Sue quilt block
appliqued by machine.
Ruth McMann of Mildmay gave tips on
machine applique work.
Fair membership was discussed and it
was decided each quilter will have their
own.

report. Name tags are now available.
A thank you note and donation was
received from Teeswater Culross Reunion
committee, along with a donation for the
guild's expenses.
Jean Welsh of Bluevale demonstrated
applique using freezer paper.
Members discussed the advisability of
having a booth at the Teeswater reunion. A
bus trip is planned to the Mennonite Relief
Sale in May and tickets are available now.
An interesting film on quilts and. quilt
making was viewed by the ladies.
The next meeting is in Lucknow Town

quilt block. Members are asked to bring
template material. Catherine Grubb of
Mildmay and Luella Armstrong of
Teeswater will give tips on judging.
Several from Purple Grove attended the
45th anniversary party in Kinloss Communi-
ty Centre Saturday evening for Frank and
Ruby Colwell of Kincardine.
Steve and Jan Elliott, Leah and 'Lynn of
Blind River visited on the weekend with
Earl and June Elliott.
Doug ..and Shirley MacDonald attended a
planning meeting at Leo Murray's on Sun-
` day for the annual Victoria weekend horse
caravan.
Sunday dinner guests with Marj Thomp-
son were Mrs. John D. Colling, Mike and
Mitch of Kincardine and Allan and Marie
Colling of Ripley.
Jack and Joan Uolwell and Nicole of
Kenora visited relatives and friends in the
area on the weekend.
John and Joyce Farrell are, away to
Manitoulin Island. Tania and Jenny are
staying with Earl and June Elliott. Toby is
at Paul and Nancy Greenwood's and Teresa
is with Don and Anne McCosh.
Jessica Van Rooyen and Dwight Irwin
spent the weekend at Doug and Shirley
MacDonald's.

Women's Institute enjoyed a Greek meal at
the Golden Pheasant Restaurant in

Wingham on Wednesday evening as their
sunshine sisters banquet. President Fran
Farrell conducted a short business meeting
and Deanna Scott was in charge of program
and the gift exchange.
Wanda Gowley attended a potluck supper
at St. Andrew's United Church in Ripley on
Tuesday evening.
Don and Marilyn Reid were guests at the
wedding of David and Sarah Parker in
Woodstock. on Saturday.
Visitors with Kay Collins were Clarence
and Marion MacGillvray of Arran Lake and
'Marjorie Thompson on Tuesday and Mer -
raid and Marg Kuehl of Waterloo on Sunday.
