BIG HAPPY 40th
to the
HOME HARDWARE LADY
(Dixie) December 7th
Back with the band, these former Lucknow Concert Band members treated the
crowd at the Youth Music Night with a tremendous trumpet trio. Ken Irwin, Paul
Finlay and Doug Clark were just one of the acts which delighted the audience at the
Community Centre Thursday night. (Rob Bundy photo)
'Tis the season
The Talk of the Town
Pastor Dwayne and Gladys Thielke,
Frederick and Timothy, were holidaying
last week in Cuba. While there they were
able to visit some of the Christians, to en-
courage the believers, and remind them
that they are being rememebered.
Out of town visitors with Olive Blake this
past week included Mrs. Mary Bere from
Goderich on Nov. 29th; Bill Blake of Kit-
chener visited his mother and had supper
with her; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Dickson
from Palmerston; Mr. and Mrs. Lorne
Hasty from Goderich; Mr. and Mrs.
Chester Finnigan from Clinton; Mrs. Elsie
Irvin from Goderich and her sister Mrs.
Clara Raynard from Lucknow all were
callers.
December 1 saw the first of the
Christmas programs with the Youth Music
Night in the Community Centre featuring
the Lucknow School Concert Bend and
choirs from Brookside Public School,
Lucknow and District Christian School and
Lucknow Central Public School.
Sunday December 4, was the annual
C.G.I.T. Vesper Service held this year in
the Lucknow Presbyterian Church.

On Wednesday, December 7, you have
an opportunity to enjoy the music of the
different church choirs as they present
their annual ,Carolfest in the United
Church.
Santa came to town on Saturday preced-
ed by a very colorful and successful
parade of clowns, floats, horses, and the
Lucknow Band. Some of the children came
to the parade all prepared to collect the
many different goodies that were handed
out, bringing plastic bags to store their
treasures. Even some bigger kids received
some of the candies!
A lot of time and effort went into the
many different floats participating. Con-
gratulations to all.
As we become involved in the hustle and
the bustle of all the Christmas activities
may we pause to reflect on a slogan seen in
a store window - "Jesus is the reason for
the season."
