Gor- don Mongtgomery checks out the features on the "Probe", while sons Ian and James watch for Dad's reaction. (Jean Montgomery photo) The annual Pro -Life dinner was held at the Goderich Township Hall on October 19. Guest speaker was Jim Hughes, President of Campaign Life Coalition, the political wing of the Pro -Life Movement. Many members of the parish community as well as others from as far away as Stratford en- joyed the speech given by Mr. Hughes. The St. Joseph's Parish Choir provided musical entertainment. The evening closed with the presentation of awards won at the annual Walk-a-thon. School News On October 17, the Junior Girls soccer team played an excellent game against a strong St. Mary's team from Goderich, los- ing by a socre of 1- 0 in Goderich. Tuesday, the Junior Boys, again in Goderich, were victorious over St. Josepeh's Clinton, but lost to Goderich 2 - 0. Congratulations to both teams on an excellent effort. The Senior Girls' soccer team was vic- torious over Clinton 2 - 0, and in an exciting shoot-out defeated St. Mary's of Goderich 1 Kby Louise Martin INGSBRIDGE PARISHISCHOOL - 0, They now advance to the zone finals in Exeter on October 26. Congratulations and good luck to the team and coach Mr. Phil Antonio. Hot dog day was changed to October 24 rather than Wednesday due to the soccer zone final. October 25 the students saw a presenta- tion on the selling of magazine subscrip- tions by Mr. Lou Danders. This will be the last major fund raising project of the year for the students. The student's council is now busy preparing for the Hallowe'en dance they are sponsoring for grade 7 and 8 students from St. Jospeh's and nearby separate schools, to be held Thursday evening, Oc- tober 27. Donna Carter has been a patient in Unversity. Hospital for the last month. We sure wish her good health so she can return home soon. This past week, Donna met Mrs. Frank McConnell, visiting with her husband. The McConnell family lived here about 45 years ago where the G and E Sales and Service building and yard stand now. Frank's father was Allan McConnell and is related to Mary Buckton. Elizabeth and Ira Dickie spent a few days last week at their cottage at Hope Bay.
