By TERRY HUNT
Carol Fludder has been for several visits
to OWen Sound Hospital in the past weeks to
see Ab Wylds. After visiting him this Satur-
day she reports that he is in good spirits and
wishes to thank all those who have called,
visited or sent cards. Ab is feeling a lot bet-
ter and hopes to back in Ripley soon.
Ripley misses Aby Wylds as much as Ab
Wylds misses Ripley.
Special graduation ceremony
Ripley Huron Central School was the set-
ting for an unusual graduation ceremony
Monday October 17th. The Ripley Tops Club
had a special graduation for Etta Dickeson
for successfully losing 56 pounds to reach
her goal and become a KOPS (Someone who
Keeps Off Pounds Sensibly).
The evening consisted of special music,
readings and a skit, all in honour of our most
recent KOPS. Leader Jan Fludder and area
Captain Phylis Blake presented Etta with a
corsage, banner, her diploma, graduate pin
and a gift. The program ended with the
ceremonial circle of light. All in all the even-
ing was a great success and we hope to have
more such events in the near future.
More donations
Christmas light donations were received
from Mike and Debbie Miller, Carl and Lin-
da Guse, Robert Scott and Adelene Martyn.

Hospital (now called the Hugh MacMillan

Fire safety tip
Stop, drop and roll. If clothes ever catch
on fire, this is what you should do. Have
the family practice "putting each other
out" by rolling one another up in blankets,
rugs or towels.
The worst thing you can do if your
7lothes are on fire is run for help.
