The Talk of the Town
Last week the dentist's office called to
say it was time for an annual check-up. If
you are like me, you often wonder who all
the ladies are that work right here in
Lucknow, so here is your introduction to
them.
Dr. Mowbray, the Dental Surgeon, was
the former Catherine Kennedy of the
Teeswater area and now lives in
Wingham. The Dental Hygienist is Dayle
Sloan and she comes from nearby Chesley.
Patti McDowell of RR 1 Belgrave is the
Dental Assistant and Mary Ellen Keller
also of RR Belgrave is the Receptionist.
Jamie, Laura and baby Henry Newson
visited recently with Austin and Mildred
Loree. They are serving with the Sudan In-
terior Mission in Liberia, Africa, and are
home on furlough.
Sunday evening, Sept. 25 George Lub-
bers got a call to conduct the service at the
Christian Reformed Church as Timothy
Andrew Thielk" decided it was time to
make his entrance into the world. Con-
gratulations to Pastor Dwayne and Gladys
Thielke and big brother Frederick on this
welcome addition to their family.
Mr. and Mrs. James McIntosh of the
Strathroy Nursing Home visited his sister,
Mrs. Neil MacCallum on September 27th
at the Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home.
Mr. and Mrs. McIntosh, both are 95 and
Mrs. MacCallum is 97. Their son-in-law
Wilfred Linnel and his daughter Donna
brought them to Lucknow and they also
visited Bert and Donalda Moffat.
Gordon and Bernice Johnstone, visited
last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Van-
sickle of Brigden. On Saturday afternoon
Bernice and Willa Vansickle attended the
50th anniversary of scouting in Oil Springs
as they had been instrumental in organiz-
ing the Cub Pack when Bernice was
teaching there. Sunday morning there was
a special church service they all attended.
They also visited with Bruce and
Marianne Johnstone and girls near
Chatham for a few days.
Visitors last week with Olive Blake were
Mrs. Jean Hodgins from Wingham on
Tuesday; Thursday Mrs. A.J. Sherwood
from Dungannon; Mrs. Mary Bere from
Goderich spent an afternoon; Mrs, Irvine
Eedy from Dungannon and her daughter
Mrs. Martha Stewart from Stratford call-
ed on Sunday, also Rev. Dan Armstrong
from the Dungannon Church visited. She

In the Lucknow Fall Fair results
published recently, a young woman was in-
correctly named in the horse classes. Cin-
dy Gordon of Kincardine was the young
lady who placed first in the Junior English
Equitation; second in the Open English
Pleasure; first in Open English Hack; se-
cond in Command Class; second in the
Best Mare or Gelding, 5 years or older;
and first in the Junior Showmanship class.

Mrs. Bill Evans and Eric Evans of Lon-
don visited on Sunday with Mrs. Wes Tif-
fin. Mrs. Evans is now residing in the Mc-
Corml'ck Nursing Home in London.
Mr. and Mrs. Angus Falconer attended
the wedding on Saturday of Brian
Falconer or Sarnia. Mrs. Wes Tiffin ac-
companied them to the wedding and is re-
maining for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh
McMillan of Sarnia.
The Sunday School had charge of the
worship service this Sunday, in the
absence of Rev. John Neilson who was
preaching an anniversary service in
Fordwich.

The Whitechurch 41-1 club chose the
name of shish -k -bobs for their club when
they held their meeting on Monday
September 19 at the home of Mrs. Betty
Ross. They cooked a roast, and discussed
the different cuts of meat.
Two club members prepared an oriental
stir -fry which was very tasty. The next
meeting is October 3 at 7:15 pm at Mrs.
Elliots.

Lucknow. Saturday Oct. 1, Barb and
Bruce Willits took her parents, Austin and
Mildred Loree to the Sutton Park Inn, Kin-
cardine for dinner. When we arrived, there

Rev. Bill and Peggy Henderson were in
Waterloo over the weekend of Sept. 25 to
attend the farewell service and dinner for
their son at Knox Church Waterloo: John
takes up a new ministry at Interfaith in
Kitchener where ministers of every
denomination receive training in counsell-
ing. John recently received a Master ,=-1f
Theology in pastoral counselling. Heµ '

married on Friday, September 23 in

Percy Newbolt, a furrnt resident of
Lucknow, has now returned the village
and is residing at Dicecrest Manor. Percy
celebrated his .eth birthday last month
and would welcome any visits from old
friends and neighbours.
The Lucknow Coop presented a prize of a
