Listen to these houshold hints, gentlemen!
This week's lesson gentlemen is "How to
make your domestic engineer ( wife and/or
female members of the family) unhappy",
otherwise known as "bad habits of the
man/men of the hot. :e".
1. leave the top off the toothpaste,
deodorant, shaving creme, after shave etc.
These lids are put on by the manufacturers
for ease in shipping and should be thrown
in the garbage when the aforementioned
products arrive at your home.
2. use too much toothpaste on your brush
and let the excess run down the side of the
sink. Bathroom cleaning personnel love to
scrape thee hard bits off.
3. leave the residue from your beard in the
sink; this makes an added attraction for
the domestic engineer. Especially attrac-
tive is the ring of beard and shaving foam
after it has dried.
4. leave ur personal underclothing lay-
ing on the bathroom floor; visitors are
sure to recommend you fire your domestic
engineer.
5. leave your wet towels on the floor of the
bathroom; when left for any length of
time, the towels take on a most delightful
fragrance.
6. leave your wet towels on the bed after
showering ;• the domestic engineer loves to
change bedding at 11 p.m. before retiring
for the evening.
7. take your socks off and leave them in a
conspicuous place in the livingroom or kit-
chen; domestic engineers love to run
around trying to eliminate the sweaty gym
smell - what a challenge!
8. never use the clothes hamper - this is
forbidden; they are meant for decoration
only; it is much easier for the domestic
engineer to get clown on all fours and crawl

under the bed to retrieve items for the
laundry.
9. smokers should never use an ashtray;
they are to look at only; please use your
plate or saucer for those offensive ashes.
10. never remove wet or muddy
shoes/boots upon 'entering the residence;
domestic engineers really do believe
"practice makes perfect" and the more
times they scrub, wax and vacuum, the
more proficient they become.
11. always leave your erppty beer bottles
laying around; the home is your castle and
if you prefer it looks like a pub, so be it.
12. never compliment the domestic
engineer or her personnnel on how attrac-
tive they look when going out for an even-
ing. Such compliments may lead said
domestic engineer to think that she is
above all of the aforementioned duties and
then where would you be.
Now before all you men out there panic,
I am pleased to inform you that I will give
up my space in this column next week for
you to list your side of the coin.
Please keep your comments brief. This
should not be difficult, as we domestic
engineers are really fantastic, understan-
ding people and despite all of the
aforementioned "beefs", your domestic
engineer really does "love you".
Thank you
Thanks to all those who over the last few
weeks have commented on this column I

By popular demand
Back by popular demand, the Lucknow
Library is proud to announce the return of
the Touring Players Theatre. The group
will present an adaptation of Margery
Williams' The Velveteen Rabbit and the
show is sure to be a children's delight.
Sponsored by the Bruce County Public
Library, with the assistance of the
Outreach Ontario program of the Ministry
of Culture and Communications, and the
Ontario Arts Council, Touring Players
Theatre will perform at the Lucknow
Branch on Tuesday, October 11 starting at
7:30 p.m.
Admission to the event is $1 and it is
recommended for children aged 5 to 9.
"What is real?" asked the Rabbit one
day.
"Real isn't how you are made," said the
Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to
you. When a child loves you for a long
time, then you become real."
Touring Players Theatre spins its
theatrical magic as it follows this beloved
classic tale of a toy rabbit and his
desperate quest to become a real, living
rabbit. The theatre company was
established in 1983 and has since enjoyed
an annual audience of 80,000.
All the plays are adaptations from
popular children's literature and
