Lanesville Lords win
Kincardine
The Lanesville Lords blew away the
competition in the recent Kincardine ball
tourney and brought home the champion-
ship. Winning all six games they played
over the three day event, the Lords
registered a strong team effort against
teams they had never played previous to
the annual tournament.
Game one for the Lords came Friday
evening when they defeated Erie Bell of
Kincardine 11- 4. Saturday's slate of
games saw the Lords defeat Walkerton T
Fuels 6 - 2 and Freddies of London 3 - 2.
These three wins took the team into the
tourney
quarter finals against Presto Crest of Kin-
cardine and when the dust on the diamond
had settled, the Lords `enjoyed a 10 - 4
victory.
In semi-final action, this time a rematch
with Walkerton T Fuels, a lopsided 15 - 3
score propelled Lanesville into the 'A'
Championship finals against the Kitchener
Raiders.
Behind the outstanding pitching of Brad
Humphries, the Lords went on to win their
sixth and final game 11 - 6. Brad was
rewarded for his efforts be being named
the Most Valuable Player in the tourney.
The Kinsmen Ball Diamond received a healthy donation from the Noisey Ladies
ball team last week. Ken Fischer was on hand at the ball park to accept the gracious
donation from Laurie VanDyke and Janice Cook. The Kinsmen Ball Diamond is just
one of the many local organizations who benifit from the Noisey Ladies proceeds from
the season. (Rob Bundy photo)
