Chairman
appointed
Mrs. Jean Whitby has been appointed as
chairman of the Lucknow and District
Branch of the Canadian Arthritis Society.
This is a relatively large branch as it in-
cludes not only the townships surrounding
Lucknow, but also the Nile and Dungannon
area.
Jean and her committee of Catherine
Andrew, Tillie Wilson and Maimie
Roulston met in the Town 'Hall in July to
plan for the September 6 -17 campaign and
to prepare kits for canvassers.
It was decided at that time, since this is
the 40th anniversary of the Arthritis Socie-
ty, that a celebration will be held and that
Mary Guse, a Society Field Represen-
tative, will be invited to attend,
The planned get-together will begin with
dessert and refreshments followed by a
film and social time. It is hoped everyone
in the area will feel free to attend this
function.
