The usual good pot luck meal was enjoyed by the members and their guests. The meeting began with the Opening Ode and the Mary Stewart Collect. Ann MacDougall read the scripture. The presi- dent, Irene Haldenby, welcomed everyone and read a poem, "The Joy of Friendship". The minutes of the May meeting were read and approved. Kairshea members were reminded of the hours volunteered to work on registration July 1. Marion MacKinnon gave the treasurer's report. The float for the Reunion was discussed. Maimie Roulston;. Margaret Mowbray, Alice Ritchie and Vera Schmidt will work with the other Institutes on this project. Wanda Keith reported on the bus trip she and Margaret Keith had organized on May 26. It was an enjoyable day to The Bruce Nuclear Power Plant, Participation Lodge, Holland Centre, and the Heritage Mall, Owen Sound. Maimie Roulston had called a meeting to discuss what the Institute could do to pro- mote better garbage disposable. " The concluding remark was, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life. What are you doing?" The 411 leaders, Sharon Stein and Susan McNall were present. Sharon gave a good review of the courses this past year and the ones planned in the future. Canada Outdoors begins in June with 20 to 25 young people interested in this one. Kairshea W.I. will help at the Craft Festival on July 29. The blackboards were used for a fun game of Win, Lose or Draw. The artists were Una Matthews, Donna Moffatt and Wilma Clarke. Readings were given by Sharon MacDougall, "My Garden is a Pleasant Place" and one by Ann Mac- Dougall, "The Best Part of Vacation". Names of songs were distributed and members had to find others humming their tune to form groups. Wanda Keith's group won. The exciting part came when we finally found who our Sunshine Sisters were. Gifts were given out and guests were introduced and also recieved gifts. The July meeting will be held in the Kairshea Hall July 21. Other Institutes are being invited. The meeting closed with the singing of 0 Canada.
