Congratulations o all those from the
community that duated from college,
university, high school and yes, even those
from public school entering high school.
May you have a good summer and the best
of luck as you start into the working world.
• The kids are out of school, so motorists
watch out for children and children watch
out for those cars and trucks.
Frank and Muriel MacKenzie were host
to a social evening for Lorne and Anita
Sparks. Friends and neighbours surprised
them and presented them with a going -
away gift. The evening was filled with
musical talent and everyone enjoyed
themselves. Mr. and Mrs. Sparks and Pat
are moving to Kitchener. Their many

Brian and Alice Doelman were happy to
have their daughter Margaret and Chuck
McMann and family of Montreal visit with
them last week.
Ira and Elizabeth Dickie attended the
wedding of Ira's niece in Ohio on the
weekend.
Jack and Blanche Needham enjoyed a
cruise on the Rideau Canal last week.
During the severe electrical storm on
Tuesday night - last week, we were so
sorry to learn that the barn and shed was
struck by lightning north of Kinloss. The
buildings and contents are owned by Mrs.
Florence Hodgins, sons Charlie and Tom.
Fortunately, the home was saved. Some of
us have known Florence for years and we
are so sorry. Her son Bill and Bev Hodgins
and family are in ourneighbouring area.
Pastor and Mrs. Christensen event to
Milton on Wednesday to their grand-
daughter Janine's 15th birthday dinner
and left here on Thursday to attend a
friend's wedding at Pembroke, Ont. They
will return home on Saturday.
Mrs. Bill Burt of Kincardine (formerly
of here) was a few days in Owen . Sound
hospital having surgeryon her eye. All our
best, Bernice.
Some from our area enjoyed the
Strawberry Supper at •the Lucknow
Presbyterian Church on Wednesday even-
ing. It was a delicious meal and great to
meet with old friends.

Leonard to Calgary. They left Friday.
Mrs. Kay Thacker, Mr. and Mrs. Eric
Thacker, Tara, Lucas and Alicia attended
the Thacker reunion at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Orville Thacker at Kitchener on
Sunday.
David Bushell of Ottawa visited for a few
days with his grandfather Edbert Bushell.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scott of Ripley visited
on Sunday evening with Edna and May
Boyle.
Folks from here attended the graduation
at Lucknow Public School on Thursday
evening. Congratulations to all.
A farewell social evening was held on
Friday evening at the Kinloss Community
Centre for Mr. and Mrs. Bevan Stanley,
Michael and Teresa who are moving from
Kinlough to Mississauga. We do wish them
well and will miss them from our
neighbourhood.
Pine River UCS meets
The June meeting of Pine River UCW
was held June 14 at the church. Betty
Jones, president, opened the meeting with
a reading and led in prayer.
Roll call was answered by 16 ladies nam-
ing a country of Africa.
The minutes and treasurer's report was
read. Margaret Ferguson gave a report on
the UCW Presbytery held in Hamilton.

numerous students who are interested in
farm labour.
If you are picking stones or fixing fences
or haying we have students to help you. To
place a job order simply call the centre
and we'll find you as many students as you
need.
It is often very helpful if you can meet

A film on farm life in South Africa,
centered on the lives of women living
there, was viewed. Most of the men are
away working in the cities or in the mines.
