Roberts. Helen Elliott sang a solo part in
the Anthem.
The Sacrament of Baptism was held.
The child baptized was Jennifer Rose
Logtenberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Simon Logtenberg.
The young people being confirmed to the
Dungannon Church were Andrew Glenn,
Melissa Logtenberg, Shannon McNeil,
Dennis Park, Chad Roberts, Jeremy
Roberts, Joel Wright and John Wright.

A get-together was held at the home of
Simon and''d'ran Logtenberg following Jen-
nifer's Baptism. Guests were Jan's
parents Ernie and Sheila Warrington of
Mississauga and Irene and Joe West..
Joshua and Nathan of Stratford.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Roberts of
Plymouth, Indiana are visiting their son
Rev. Robert and Mrs. Roberts and attend-
ed the Confirmation Service of their grand-
sons Chad and Jeremy Roberts in Dungan-
non United Church.
A community shower was held for Karen
Beecroft in the Whitechurch Community
Hall on Monday evening, June 13. Mrs.
Jean Tiffin led in some community singing
with Mrs. Agnes Farrier at the piano. Mrs.
Alice Moore gave some readings and
welcomed everyone to the shower.
Karen Elliott played instrumentals on
the piano after which the bride-to-be and
her helpers, Mrs. Cindy Clark, and April
Moore, opened many lovely gifts.
Karen thanked everyone and all sang
"For She's a Jolly Good Fellow".
Lunch was served and a social time en-
joyed by everyone.
Mrs. Joan Hilbert of Goderich visited on
Sunday with Mildred McClenaghen.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Glover and Brandy of
Sarnia visited on the weekend with her
parents Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Milligan.
Mrs. Norma Rintoul attended the open
house on Saturday at Lucknow for Mr. and
Mrs. Ralph Cameron. On Sunday, Mrs.
Rintoul attended the 50th anniversary of"
Mr„ and Mrs. Laurie Scott of Blyth, and
Saturday last, she attended the dinner ir,
their honour at the Auburn Community
Hall.
Weekend visitors with Mrs. Rintoul were
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Campbell and
Heather of Richmond Hill. Mrs. Donna
Gutoskie of Kitchener, Mr. and Mrs. Dave
Oberholtzer family of Waterloo, and Mr.
and Mrs. Neil Rintoul, Lucknow.
The Whitechurch Women's Institute
ladies. travelled to Blyth on Thursday
evening to see the play The Cookie War.
Some made an evening of it and went out
for supper, before the play. This was in
place of a bus trip this year.
Mrs. Agnes Farrier and Mrs. Evelyn
Gibb attended the meeting on Wednesday
evening at Calvin Brick where Mrs. Muriel
Coulter was showing pictures of her recent
trip to P_.•tluopia.

The Chalmers W.M.S. held its June
meeting on Wednesday June 15 at the
home of Mrs. Wallace Milligan. Mrs. Nor-
ma Rintoul and Mrs. Agnes Gaunt were
the leaders.
Mrs. Rintoul gave the call to worship,
gave the meditation and followed with
prayer.
The roll call was answered by 11 ladies
with a verse containing the word
"nature". Mrs.• Milligan gave the
treasurersreport and reported that the
group has made half of their objective for
the year at this point.
Mrs. Dora Neilson read the May minutes
and correspondence was discussed. A
reading by Mrs. Jean Ross called When
Father Prays.
Mrs. Hugh Simpson gave a reading on
peonies. Prayer closed the meeting.
Mrs. Milligan and Mrs. Falconer of
Goderich served refreshments. Mrs. Ar-
chie Purdon thanked the ladies for the
meeting and Mrs. Milligan for her home
and lunch.
A surprise 85th birthday party was held
on Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Simon de
Boer of Lucknow at the home of her son,
Mr. and Mrs. John de Boer. Attending the
happy occasion was Mr. and Mrs. Dick de
Boer of Bluevale and Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Vlieger of Holland who are visiting with
Mr. and Mrs. Wim de Boer and family, Mr.
and Mrs. Derk Lotenberg of Dungannon
and his father Jerry Lotenberg of
Goderich; Mrs. Roeley de Boer; and Mr.
and Mrs. Ron Nickalson and family of
Egmondville.
Meals on wheels meets
The Meals on Wheels Committee met at
Pinecrest Manor last week for their June
meeting.
At the meeting it was announced that the
New Horizons Grant for 1987 has ended
and that a total of 149 meals were sent out
during the month of May. mea

After some discussion, it was decided
that due to the rise in the cost of containers
used for the meals and the rise in
minimum student wages, the price of each
meal would become $3 each as of July 1.
The next meeting will be help at
Pinecrest Manor on July 4 starting at 10
a.m.
