The Lucknow Sentinel, 1988-06-22, Page 7The new wee Page Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Page on the birth of their baby son James Andrew (Jamie), at the Wingham and District Hospital on June 14th. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Page and Mr. and Mrs. Don Gillespie. Friends from here attended the funeral of the late Mrs, Mary (Scott) MacDonald at Ripley on Friday. Sympathy is extended to her son Dr. Donald MacDonald and his wife and family; to her sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Fair; and to brother John Scott of Ripley. The late Mary MacDonald had a lengthy stay at Pine Crest Manor Lucknow, the Kincardine and District Hospital and then at the • Walkerton Hospital where she passed away. A pleasant gathering was held on Satur- day at the home of Jim and Lloyd Hanna when the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Thompson and the Hetherington relatives held a reunion. Some of those present were Lloyd Thompson, Olive Han- na, Jean Willets and (Helen) Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wolasschuk and family, the family of the late Mac Thompson, Mrs. George Hetherington, Captain Cliff Hetherington of the Salvation Army and son Harold and Miss Norma Coutts and Sandra, daughter of the late Leslie Hetherington and other family members. Mrs. Nellie MacKinnon and Mrs. Bill Burt of Kincardine and Mrs. Frank Maulden of here attended the Golden Wed- ding of Mr. and Mrs. Foreman at Bradley's School and later the Kincardine ladies visited with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Vance of here. Visitors with Edna and May Boyle were Mrs. Frank Maulden of here and Miss Nor- ma Coutts of Wingham and Mrs. Kay Thacker South Line. Mrs. Bruce Bushell was hostess on Wed. evening for the Presbyterian W.M.S. meeting on friendship. Four visitors joined the members and all were welcomed by the President Mrs. Bert Thompson. After the minutes and business, the roll call was Biblical Fathers and sons. Mrs. Don Robertson had the devotions on fellowship taken from St. John. Mrs. Frank Maulden and Mrs. Don Visiting with Dorothy Finlayson on the weekend was Barbara Rogerson and her son Charles of Toronto and Ken. Visiting for a few days was Allan Finlayson of Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Art Mathewman attended the Garden Party at Woolsely Barracks in London on Wednesday. Barry and Betty Jones attended a Garden Party at Kingsway Lodge in St. Mary's and visited with Barry's mother who is a resident of the Lodge. While at the party they met many of their friends and relatives from the Thorndale area. Barry and Betty had their supper with friends Dave and Carol Miller of Medina. Kae Webster and her son Jim Webster of INLOUGH by May Boyle Bushell had the program which began with the hymn "Blest be the tie that binds". Mrs. Bushell gave two readings, Love is for sharing and a poem in keeping with Father's Day. Mrs. Maulden gave a reading on friend- ship and one about the state of the Church in Russia. The president gave the courtesy remarks and all enjoyed delicious refreshments and a time of fellowship. Ladies from here attended the Hospital auxiliary tea at Ripley on Tuesday. Mrs. Andy Page and baby Jamie return- ed home from Wingham Hospital. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith on the weekend were their daughter San- dra and Shawn Norton from Stittsville On- tario. On Saturday Harold, Betty, Sandra and Shawn and Mr. and Mrs. John Dunlop attended graduation exercises at Georgian College Owen Sound for Cheryl and Heather Smith. Cheryl is in Business and Marketing and Heather is in Business Ac- counting. We extend congratulations to the girls. Mrs. Don Wall and Rev. Merelyn Letson attended Synod at London. Mr. and Mrs. Don Bertrand and family of Simcoe visited with Miss Winnifred Per- cy and Bill and' Brian Percy. Relatives from here who attended the wedding of Bevin Brooks and Karen Har- tung with dinner and reception at Kurt- zville were Donald Barr of Waterloo, Mr. and Mrs. Don Bertrand of Simcoe, Mr. and Mrs, Morley Bushell of Wingham, Win- nifred, Bill and Brian Percy, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barr, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Percy, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Haldenby, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Murray. We extend congratulations. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Gay from Bluevale were recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Midford Wall. OCHALSH by Kae Webster Waterloo visited with Norma Young in Goderich on the weekend. Jinn is still nurs- ing his injured wrist which he hurt the mid- dle of February. So far he is still not sure when he will be able to return to work. It is possible it will be two months, possibly Longer.
