It was another eventful week at L.C.P.S.
with students participating in the Book
Fair and Field Day.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Book
Fair was held in the library. It was a huge
success, with just under $800.00 being rais-
ed. This money will go towards sponsoring
an author such as Dr. Zed, to come to our
school.
Grade One has started their June cen-
tres and are having a busy, fun time with
them. The Grade One children are busy
preparing work for the fall fair. They
made safety posters for the fair this week.
A film on Noah's Animals was viewed in
Grade One as well.
Grade 1/2 are happy that everyone
received their Mercer Mayor certificates
for reading 15 books. The children are en-
joying their new novels which they got
from the library.
Grade 1/2 are brushing up on their bicy-
cle safety so that they will be good riders in
the summer time.
The "Peanut Butter Solution" ,was wat-
ched on video by the Grade 3/4 class this
week.
Mr. Bennett talked to Mr. Dennis' class
about his fishing ' hobby. He is quite
knowledgeable on the subject and told lots
of "fish stories".
The Grade 6/7 class is busy perfecting
their play which they are preparing for
June 15, their V.I.P..graduation night.
`CPS INSIDER
Both math and science tests were given
this week to give the Grade 6's a chance to
show their knowledge. "Banner in the
Sky" is the title of the novel which is
challenging the Grade 6 class!
Grade 7 will be travelling to Midland on
Tuesday, June 14 to visit St. Marie Among
the Hurons. They are looking forward to
this excursion. .
Ottawa is the main topic of conversation
in the Grade 8 class right now. The Grade 8
students leave for their four day trip to Ot-
tawa on June 14.
Field Day at L.C.P.S. was held this
week. Everyone tried their hardest and it
paid off. The overall winners were: Junior
