A resume speaks for you to an employer, telling him or her about your education, your qualifications and your special abilities. On a resume, alway include your name, address and phone number. Do not include age, weight, height, sex, or social in- surance number. List your education. If you are a post secondary student include the program that you are enrolled in. In- clude your past work history, listing your most recent employment first. Along with the place of work briefly include your duties. For example: Smiling Student Sandwich Bar - waitress, worked cash register, food preparation and dishes occasionally. Also, list your qualifications aside from past work experience. This section of your resume is crucial if you do not have any previous work experience. It shows the employer that you are involved and capable on many levels. Interests, Activities, Skills Student Council Social Convenor "4-H Club Member Intramural Volleyball Public Speaking Awards Skiing Windsurfing Golf Church Choir Conclude your resume with at least three references, including one academic, one personal, and one work reference. Always ask your references to use their names before you put them on your resume. Limit your resume to two pages. Type it on good quality paper and ensure that it is neat and that all headings are centred.
