The Canada Employment Centre fpr
Students is open again at 325 Lambton St.
in Kincardine to fill the summer employ-
ment needs of Kincardine and the surroun-
ding area including Lucknow, Ripley, and
Tiverton. The Centre has many eager and
enthusiastic students on file and we en-
courage all students of the Lucknow area
to come in and register.
The Centre operates as follows: When an
employer calls us with a job order we
search our files for students who best meet
the employer's needs and refer them to
that position. Our service is fast; most of
our job orders are filled within 48 hours.
We also set up interviews and collect
resumes when required and we provide in-
formation regarding wage levels, labour
Legislation, and federal and provincial sub-
sidy programs. Our students are capable,
energetic, flexible and willing to learn new
tasks. They are available on short notice
and mill work for a day, a week, a month,
or more.
Students will not only work in businesses
but will do yardwork, housecleaning,
farmwork and many other tasks. When
you hire a student you are not only helping
yourself you are also giving that young
person the opportunity to gain valuable ex-
perience, an important asset in today's job
market.

Lucknow Meals on wheels
The Lucknow Meals on Wheels commit-
tee held a special appreciation night for all
volunteer drivers and assistants on Tues-
day, May 17. The event took place at the
Pinecrest Nursing Home.
Ruth Thompson, president of the local
Meals on Wheels, welcomed all present
and thanked them for their volunteer help
in faithfully delivering meals during 'the
past year.
Meals on Wheels in Lucknow started
three years ago and at that time delivered
meals to three people twice each week.
During the past year, a total of 1,471 meals
were delivered in this area.
The maximum number of meals
delivered in one evening was 15. The
lowest number of meals delivered over the
past twelve months occured on Christmas
Day when six feasts found happy
recipients.
All these meals were delivered by some
37 drivers.
The New Horizons grant, which was a
great -help in getting the program started,
was completed in December df last year.
Ruth Thompson presented each
volunteer driver with a geranium in ap-
preciation of their help and following
games of cards, in which some of the
Pinecrest residents participated, a lovely
lunch was served by the staff of the Manor.
