Mrs. Dorothy Erratt Bennett
Mrs. Dorothy Erratt Bennett, RR 6
Goderich, died at Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital Friday, May 6 at the age
of 72.
She was born in Hullett Township,
January 21, 1916, the daughter of the late
John Jackson Wilson and the former Dora
Erratt. She was a retired elementary
schoolteacher and a member of Knox
Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Hugh
Rutherford Bennett, whom she married in
1941.
Also surviving are son John and his wife
Della of Egmondville; daughter Jill of
Thornhill; son Jim of RR _6 Goderich;
sister Beryl (Mrs. Harold Nicholson) of

Seaforth; and two grandchildren, Christa
and Lisa Bennett.
She was predeceased by one sister,
Eleanor Bradnock.
The funeral service was, held at the Mc-
Callum and Palla Funeral Home Monday,
May 9 with Rev. David Nicholson of Knox
Presbyterian Church officiating.
Pallbearers were Jim Hayden, Bill
Hayden, Jim Graham, Gordon Dougherty,
Fred Crawford and John McKenzie.
Interment Christ Church Cemetery,
Port Albert.
Old time dance coming
The Community School Committee held
a . meeting at St. Joseph's Community
School on Thursday evening, May 12th.
Final preparations were made for the Old
Time Family Dance to be held in the
school gym on Thursday evening, May
19th from 9:30 -to 11:00 p.m.
Family members of all ages are invited
to come out and enjoy a fun -filled evening
of old time dancing to the music of Tiffin's
Orchestra with Horace Crawford doing the
calling for the dancing. Admission will be
$10.00/family or $3.00 per person and
ladies are asked to please bring lunch.
Several other ideas for future activities
were discussed as well.
A community bridal shower was held in
the parish hall Friday evening May 13th in
honour of Anna Da Mota, future bride of
Eric Courtney of the parish.
Don't forget, any unwanted or unused
articles will gratefully accepted for St.
Joseph's Annual Parish Garage Sale to be
held Saturday, May 21st. '
On Wednesday, May llth the students of
St. Joseph's School had the opportunity to
meet and talk to Shirley Day, author of
children's books who travelled from
Toronto to talk to the students. It was an
enjoyable and enlightening morning for
the students.

teachers and several parents travelled to
the Science Centre in Toronto on Friday,
May 13th. After several hours of hands-on
fun at the Science Centre the group got a
chance to view the progress of the
Skydome Stadium currently under con-
struction on their way to a pizza dinner at
the Organ Grinder which proved to be
almost as exciting as the Science Centre.
With its live organ music, flashing lights,
cymbals, drums ,and huge seating
capacity.
On Monday morning the Grade 7/8 class
travelled to Goderich for a practice for
their Confirmation which will be Tuesday
evening at 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter's.
Congratulations to Josh Martin who
recently won second prize in a contest
sponsored by the Huron County Nurse's,
Association in conjunction with Nurse's
Week. Josh, a Grade 2 student, wrote an
essay on what nurses do, which was open
to students from Kindergarten to Grade 4.
WILKINS - Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wilkins of
Dungannon are pleased to announce the
safe arrival of a new daughter, Melissa
Lee Ann, on May 4, 1988 at the Wingham
and District Hospital. Melissa weighed in
at 7 lbs, 6 oz and is a sister for Steven and
Catherine.
ROOT - Ronald and Debbie of RR4
Brussels are happy to announce the birth
of their second daughter, Lisa Grace, on
May 6, 1988 at the Wingham and District
Hospital. Weighing 7 lbs, 11 oz at her birth,
Lisa is a wee sister for Tammy.
CRAIG - Nancy and Kenneth Craig are
pleased to announce the birth of their son,
Phillip Jordan, born May 7, 1988 at the Kin-
cardine and District Hospital. Phillip

weighed in at 8 lbs, 8 oz and is a little
brother for Lindsay and Morgan. Proud

cardine, and Bill and Irene Haldenby of
Lucknow.
FAIR - Jason is happy to announce the safe
arrival of his little sister, Lisa Joleen, 7
lbs. 13 oz., at St. Joseph Hospital, London
on Saturday, April 23, 1988. Proud parents
are Gary and Jeannette. Grandparents are
