The Lucknow Sentinel, 1988-05-11, Page 24Page 24—Lucknow Sentinel, Wednesday, May 11, 1988 CLIFFORD ROBB Clifford Robb of Holyrood, died in Wingham and District Hospital on April 30, 1988, in his 72nd year. Mr. Robb had farmed in Kinloss Township, retiring in 1979. Born in Kinloss Township, Bruce County, on October 23, 1916, he was a son of the late John Robb and Nancy Ann Bell. In 1941 Mr. Robb married the former Mar- jorie McConnell, who survives him. He is also survived by his daughter, Lois and husband Glenn Stinson and grand- children Gary and Susan Stinson, all of Hamilton; a brother Chester and wife Velma Robb of Hamilton; sister-in-law Alma and John Dunlop of Kincardine. Mr. Robb was predeceased by his parents and a brother David. Visitation was held at MacKenzie and Mc- Creath Funeral Home, Lucknow on Sunday, May 1, from where the funeral service was conducted on May 2, by Rev. Merelyn Letson. Organist was Mrs. Donelda Moffat. Alvin Robb and Ed Thompson were flower bearers with Gerald Rhody, Hank Duiker, Charlie Murray, Harold Elliott, Bill Halden- by and Winston Allen as pallbearers. Burial was' in Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow. FLORENCE G. JOHNSTON A resident of the Bluevale area for many years, Florence G. Johnston passed away Sunday, May 1, 1988 at Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario. She was M her 72nd year. Born August 18, 1916 in West Wawanosh Township, Mrs. Johnston was the daughter of the late John McQuillan and Elizabeth Habick. She attended school at St. Helens and Lucknow and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Stratford General Hospital in 1938. She will be remembered as a loving wife, JOHNSTON - Ron and Sharon announce the birth of their daughter Lisa Jean, on May 1, 1988, weighing in at 6 lbs. 9 ozs., a wee sister for Wesley. Proud grandparents are Lorne and Marion Cook, Lucknow, Al and Marilyn Johnston, St. Thomas. Great grandparents are Pete and Evelyn Cook Lucknow, Ted and Marg Johnston, Kit- chener and Hazel Ferris Niagara Falls. mother and grandmother. She was known for her musical talents, culinary attributes and handicraft skills. Especially remembered as a caring nurse and for her steadfast friendships. She was a member of Bluevale United Church and was church organist for many years. She was an active and valued member of the United Church Women, Bluevale Institute and Bluevale Senior Citizens. Left to mourn is her husband Carl E. Johnston, one daughter Marie and her hus- band Neil McGavin, RR 4, Walton, and two sons Keith and his wife Bonnie of RR 2, Bluevale and Dr. Terry and his wife Theresa of RR 1. Atwood. She was loved by ten grandchildren, Brian, Cathy, Jeff and Heather McGavin; Donna, David and Carla Johnston; Michael, Mark and Matthew Johnston. Also surviving is a brother Frank Mc- Quillin and his wife Laurine of RR 1, Lucknow. Mrs. Johnston was predeceased by her parents and sisters, Ruth McQuillin and Dorothy McCabe and a brother Fred McQuillin. Friends and neighbours paid their respects at the McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham. Funeral services were held at Bluevale United Church on Wednesday, May 4, 1988 with Rev. Bonnie Lambie officiating. Pallbearers were nephews, Ivan Mc- Quillin, Kitchener; Brian McCabe, Toron- to; Terry Wilson, Wingham; Ken Johnston, Glen Johnston and Murray Johnston all of RR 2, Bluevale. Interment in Wingham Cemetery. BIRTHS SHETLER Mr. and Mrs. Josey Shetler, of RR 2, Lucknow are pleased to announced the birth of their son on April 28, 1988, a brother for Danny and Leroy. Ponds stocked with rainbow Anglers looking for a good spot to wet their line will be interested in Visiting any of three conservation areas, beginning in May. During the first week of May the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) will be stocking catchable sized rainbow trout into ponds at Falls Reserve, Wawanosh Park and Sunshine Conserva- tion Areas. The one thousand fish measuring 8 to 10 inches in length are stocked. to provide fishing opportunities for visitors to the three conservation areas. Dave Grummett, Director of Operations for the MVCA, noted that the stocking pro- gram, now in its 13th year, provides an ideal opportunity for youngsters to try their hand at angling. In addition to fishing ponds, Falls Reserve and Wawanosh Park offers both camping and day use facilities. Sunshine Conservation Area has day use facilities only. There is a charge for day use admis- sion to Falls Reserve, while the other two areas offer free day use. Falls Reserve C.A. is located at Ben - miller, near Goderich. Wawanosh Park is located east off County Road 22, on conces- sion 6-7 of East Wawanosh Township. Sun- shine Conservation Area is southwest of Brussels off County Road 12, on concession 6 of Morris Township. The Lucknow School Concert band played to a standing -room -only crowd last Fri- day evening at the Community Centre. These young members of the band played, among others, a very difficult number called "Stand Up for Jesus". If you have never attended one of these annual concerts, be sure to watch for the next performance of the Lucknow School Concert Band - you won't be disappointed.
