Ponds stocked with rainbow
Anglers looking for a good spot to wet
their line will be interested in Visiting any
of three conservation areas, beginning in
May.
During the first week of May the
Maitland Valley Conservation Authority
(MVCA) will be stocking catchable sized
rainbow trout into ponds at Falls Reserve,
Wawanosh Park and Sunshine Conserva-
tion Areas.
The one thousand fish measuring 8 to 10
inches in length are stocked. to provide
fishing opportunities for visitors to the
three conservation areas.
Dave Grummett, Director of Operations
for the MVCA, noted that the stocking pro-
gram, now in its 13th year, provides an
ideal opportunity for youngsters to try
their hand at angling.
In addition to fishing ponds, Falls
Reserve and Wawanosh Park offers both
camping and day use facilities. Sunshine
Conservation Area has day use facilities
only. There is a charge for day use admis-
sion to Falls Reserve, while the other two
areas offer free day use.
Falls Reserve C.A. is located at Ben -
miller, near Goderich. Wawanosh Park is

shine Conservation Area is southwest of
Brussels off County Road 12, on concession

The Lucknow School Concert band played to a standing -room -only crowd last Fri-
day evening at the Community Centre. These young members of the band played,
among others, a very difficult number called "Stand Up for Jesus". If you have never
attended one of these annual concerts, be sure to watch for the next performance of
the Lucknow School Concert Band - you won't be disappointed. The dedication of
leader Gordon Cayley and the talents of the band members is evident at every show
they perform. (Pat Livingston photo)
