Mixed league honors their best bowlers
Mixed Couples Bowling League
The Mixed Couples League held their an-
nual awards banquet at the Anglican
Church Parish Hall last week with most of
the members in attendance.
President Barb Tyler called the meeting
to order. The first order of business was
the discussion of rules. All decided to leave
the rules unchanged for the coming
season. Betty VanOsch gave the
treasurer's report.
The new slate of officers are Helen
VanOsch as president; Pat Livingston,
secretary; and Brenda Kemp as
treasurer.
Current secretary Marg Hackett took
over for the presentation of awards with
various team members making the actual
presentations: season's champs -
Chipmunks; ladies high average -Pat Liv -
BOWLING
ingston; mens' high average -Gerald
Rhody; ladies' high triple -Betty VanOsch;
mens' high triple -Harvey Livingston;
ladies high single -Nancy Swan; mens'
high single -Ron Elliott; ladies' high triple
with handicap -Marie Scott; mens' high tri-
ple with handicap -David Elliot; ladies'
high single with handicap -Betty Mole;
mens' high single with handicap-Nic
Beyersbergen.
The most improved new lady bowler was
Joyce Swan; mens' most improved new
bowler -Bev McNay; ladies' most improv-
ed bowler -Margaret Hackett; mens' most
improved bowler -Wayne Bell;
The playoff champs this year were the
Tigers and the playoff awards saw the
ladies' high triple go to Beryl MacDonald;
mens' high triple -Allan Hackett; ladies'
high single -Mary Lou Baynard and Barb
Tyler; mens' high single -Steve Carvell.
perfect attendance -Barb Tyler.
The league had five games over 300
bowled this year by Garald Rhody, Nancy
Swan, Harvey Livingston and Wilma
Elliott.
Following the awards, a presentation
was made of gifts to the executive for their
work over the season.
Draw winners at the evening's entertain-
ment included Delores VanOsch, Bob
Mole, Russel Swan, Helen VanOsch, Joyce
Swan and Steve Carvell.
Town and Country
Congratulations to the Pansies for winn-
ing the playoffs. Final team standings: Pan-
sies 15, Crocuses 14, Daffodils 13, Tulips 12,
Hyacinths 11, Snowdrops 10.
Harry Lavis rolled the high single for the
men with a score of 196, while Ian Dougher-
ty took the double with 361.
Agnes Farrier took the ladies high single
with 214 with Fern McDonald rolling a 391
double.
Games over 200: Fern 'McDonald 211,
Agnes Farrier 214, Anna Johnston 206.
