Society The Lucknow Agricultural Society held their regular meeting Tuesday, April 26 at the Community Centre. President Leo Murray chaired the meeting with.. ,13 members present. Ross Errington gave a report on the district meeting that he attended at Thorn- bury earlier in the month. It was decided to loan the addition to the stage at the Community Centre to the Kinettes for their fashion show; May 2 and to the Lucknow Concert Band for their May 6 performance. A judges symposium was held in Teeswater on April 27 and 28. Hazel Hackett, June Gilchrist, Mildred Purdon and Elaine Errington attended the two-day session as representatives of the Lucknow Society. Craft Festival committees were set up for the two-day show planned for July 29 arid 30: booth - Archie and Mildred Purdon and Mel and Jayne Ritchie; signs - Bruce Skillen and Ian Clarke; gates - Ian Clarke; parking - Ken Mewhinney; guards - Leo Murray and Allan Miller; meals - Hazel Hackett, Ruth Bell and the ::%.' .shea W.I.; candy - Lillian Irwin; registration - Spence Irwin; draw tickets - Lloyd Morrison, Norm Bolt and Murray Irwin; helpers for crafters - Glen Walden and D.A. Hackett. Leo Murray and Bruce Skillen took a moment at the meeting to review some of the events planned for the Lucknow Reu- nion this summer. It was also noted that the West Huron Junior Farmers would held paint the signs for the Craft Festival. Adam Skillen was voted as the most outstanding goalie during the regular season at the Lucknow Minor Hockey Awards banquet held recently. This honour won him the Claude Guay Masonry Trophy which was presented by Ray Guay during the awards ceremonies. Adam had a super season of hockey this year and coaches are expecting big things from this youngster in the years to come. This Friday, May 6 at 8:15 p.m., the band will present its annual concert at the Lucknow Community Centre. At this time, the band members will delight both the young and the old with their selections and really enjoy getting the audience to par- ticipate with them. On May 17, the band members will take its musical talents to the Burlington area where they will'entertain at many schools during their four day stay'. The Lucknow 'School Concert Band is proud to represent the Lucknow Lions Club at the annual Lions Club Parade. This event will be held in London on May 28. The "Celebrate in '88" reunion will see the band participating in the parade. Many former band members returning "home" may meet some of their "band buddies"' and reminisce of "time when" at a special time at Lucknow Central Public School. More details will follow. In the meantime, the Lucknow School Concert Band looks forward to sharing their music with you at the Community Centre on Friday night. Hope to see you there!! Gerda deJong managed to roll the high single of the week for the ladies with a 272 score. Jean Phillips took the high double score with 422. For the men, it was Ian Dougherty with the high single of 235 while Harry Lavis captured the high double with a 390 showing.
